Many people, especially opponents of Apple computers, claim that the macOS system is absolutely flawless, and that under no circumstances can it so-called crash. However, the opposite is true, as even the macOS operating system has its days from time to time. It should be noted, however, that the complete failure of the system is usually not caused by a native application or a native process, but by an application that was downloaded from the Internet and in some way disrupted the functionality of macOS. If your Mac or MacBook freezes and you can't do anything about it, the only option is to hold down the power button for ten seconds to force restart the device. But did you know that within macOS you can set your Mac or MacBook to restart automatically after detecting a system crash? In this tutorial you will learn how.

How to set your Mac or MacBook to automatically restart after detecting a macOS crash

This whole process will happen in the app Terminal, as well as most of the previous instructions that we published on the Jablíčkář magazine. If you are here for the first time and do not know how to Terminal starts, so it is necessary to wish to by application, where can Terminal in the folder Utility find. Alternatively, it can also be started using spotlight, which you activate by pressing magnifying glass in the upper right part of the screen, or by pressing the keyboard shortcut Command + Spacebar. After starting the Terminal, a small window opens in which various commands are written or pasted, which then perform various actions. If you want to activate an automatic restart on your Apple computer after detecting a macOS crash, you copy the command which I am attaching below:

sudo systemsetup -setrestartfreeze on

After copying, move to the active application window Terminal, and then the here command insert and confirm it by pressing the button Enter. After confirmation, you still need to enter yours in the Terminal window administrator password. It should be noted that the password is entered in the Terminal "blindly" – when writing in it they don't show wildcards in the form asterisks So once you have written the password, all you have to do is confirm it again by pressing the key Enter. And that's it - you've now successfully made your Mac or MacBook automatically restart after it detects a system crash.

In case you want to come back back and disable the function for automatic restart after detecting a system crash, so you just need to use it exactly the same procedure as above. Only the command above replace hereby by command:

sudo systemsetup -setrestartfreeze off
.
