How to set Apple Watch to protect your hearing

If you own an Apple Watch Series 4 and later, you may have noticed that a new application was added to the system as part of watchOS 6, which is called Noise. After opening this application, you can see in real time how much noise there is in your surroundings. In addition to displaying the current noise level, you can also set the complication from this app. In addition, there is a special setting with which you can be notified when the noise level exceeds a certain limit after a certain time. How to set Apple Watch to protect your hearing

If you want to activate the function to protect your hearing, or to notify you of possible hearing damage, you can do so either directly on Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), Watch, or within the application Watch na iPhone. In the first case, yours unlock Apple Watch, and then press digital crown, which will get you to application menu. Find the app here Settings and open it. After that, ride something below, until you hit the box Noise, which you tap. Click on the option here Loudness measurement sounds in the surroundings and using the function switch activate. Then come back back and click the option Noise notification. Here you can set which ones conditions it will come to you notification that you are in a noisy environment and that hearing may be damaged. If you want to set this option using an iPhone, open the application Watch, where in the section My watch move to section Noise. Here, you only need to toggle the switch to activate the function Measurement sound in the vicinity to active positions. You can then set the notifications in the box Loudness Threshold.

Some people might argue that this measurement of ambient noise is very imprecise. However, the opposite is true, as several tests were conducted in which the Apple Watch differed only minimally from professional noise meters. It should therefore be noted that the Apple Watch can be used as a very accurate device for measuring ambient noise.
