The final version of iOS 4.2 brought several new features for all users, but some are reporting problems. Some devices lost music completely after upgrading to a new operating system. iPhones and other devices showed an empty library, but luckily it's not as hot as it looks. The music was not deleted, it was just somehow hidden. If you still haven't solved this problem, read our guide.

The disappearance of all the songs surprised me too, but I didn't panic, tried a few steps and the iPod app on my phone shows what it has again. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes.
  2. In the left panel, open the connected iPhone and select music.
  3. Play any song from your iPhone in iTunes.
  4. Sync again.
  5. Open the iPod application and wait for the library to update.
