If you use Apple products to the maximum, then you are certainly no stranger to Keychain on iCloud. All saved passwords are stored within it, thanks to which you can log in to any internet account quickly and easily. It is therefore not necessary to directly enter the password for that account every time you log in, as Klíčenka will fill it in for you - you only need to authorize yourself, using biometrics, or by entering the password for the account. Best of all, all passwords in Keychain are automatically shared across all your devices, so you always have them handy.

How to view all saved passwords on Mac

However, from time to time you may find yourself in a situation where you need to find out the form of one of the saved passwords. Since the Keychain can also generate and automatically apply saved passwords, it is practically impossible for you to remember any of them. If you wanted to view all passwords on a Mac, you had to use the native Keychain application. This application is of course completely functional, but it can be unnecessarily complicated for the average or amateur user. However, Apple realized this and in macOS Monterey came up with a new interface for managing passwords, which is similar to that of iOS and is much simpler. You can find it as follows:

  • First, you need to click on the top left corner of your Mac icon .
  • Once you do so, select an option from the menu that appears System Preferences.
  • You will then see a window with all available sections for managing preferences.
  • In this window, locate and click on the section that has a name Passwords.
  • After opening this section it is necessary that you authorized using a password or Touch ID.
  • Subsequently, you will already see the interface in which you can find all entries with passwords.

Using the above procedure, it is therefore possible to view all records with saved passwords for Internet accounts on a Mac. To view a specific account password, simply click on it to highlight it. You will then be shown all the information about a specific record. Here, all you have to do is find the Password box, next to which there are asterisks on the right. If you move the cursor over these stars, the password will be displayed. If you would like to copy it, right-click it (two fingers on the trackpad), then press Copy password.
