The macOS Monterey operating system is currently the latest operating system from Apple. We saw its public release a few weeks ago, and it's worth mentioning that it has tons of new features and improvements. In our magazine, we are constantly focusing on all the news, not only in the tutorial section, but also outside of it. Some improvements are visible at first glance in macOS Monterey, but some others have to be found - or you just need to read our guides, in which we will reveal even the most hidden news. In this guide, we will look together at one of the hidden functions that you would not easily find.

How to Change Cursor Color on Mac

If you look at your cursor now, you'll notice that it has a black fill and a white outline. This color combination is certainly not chosen by chance, but due to the fact that thanks to it, the cursor can be easily seen on practically any content. If the colors were different, it could happen that in some cases you could search for the cursor on the desktop for an unnecessarily long time. If you would still like to change the color of the fill and outline of the cursor, this option was not available in macOS until now. However, with the arrival of macOS Monterey, the situation changes, as the color of the cursor can be easily changed as follows:

  • First, tap  in the upper left corner of the screen.
  • Then select a box from the menu that appears System Preferences…
  • Once you do so, a window will appear in which you will find all the sections for managing preferences.
  • Within this window, locate and click the box Disclosure.
  • After clicking in the left menu in the category Air selects a bookmark Monitor.
  • Then switch to the section in the menu at the top of the window Pointer.
  • Next, tap the currently set color next to it Pointer outline/fill color.
  • A small will now appear color palette window, where are you just choose the color.
  • After choosing a color, a window with a classic color palette is sufficient close.

Thus, through the above procedure, it is possible to change the fill color and outline of the cursor within macOS Monterey. You can choose any color at your discretion, but it is necessary to mention that some color combinations can be harder to see on the screen, which is not entirely ideal. If you would like to reset the fill and outline color to their original values, simply move to the same location as shown above, then click next to the fill and border color Reset. This will set the cursor color to the original.
