Among other things, the Safari web browser has seen huge changes, which, in addition to new security functions, also offers all kinds of design changes. One of these changes took place, among other things, on the home page, which you can use to quickly open your favorite pages or bookmarks from iCloud, or to display your reading list. Among other things, it is now also possible to change the background of this home page.

How to change the homepage background image in Safari on Mac

If you would like to change the background of the home page in Safari on your Mac, it is not difficult. Note that you should have your Mac updated to macOS 11 Big Sur and later. The procedure in this case is as follows:

  • Right from the start it is necessary that you prepared a picture that you want to set in the background in Safari.
    • Ideally, save the image on your desktop or in a simple folder, for example, so that you have easy access to it.
  • Once you have your photo ready, move to active Safari window.
  • If you are not on the home page yet, go to it move – just tap on the + icon at the top right.
  • Now it is necessary that you they exited full screen mode (if you are in it). Click on green ball in the upper left corner.
