If you often shoot videos on your iPhone, you may have found yourself in a situation where you had to at least simply edit them. You can easily shorten a video directly in the Photos application, but if you would like to crop it, for example to a different aspect ratio, you need to use a specific application. In this article, we will introduce two such and at the same time look at how you can easily trim videos according to your needs in them.

Trim videos with iMovie

You can easily use Apple's iMovie application, which is available for free on the App Store, to trim the video. Unfortunately, cropping video in iMovie is a bit more complicated since you have to use gestures. Can't crop to exact aspect ratio. However, if you don't mind and you need to quickly trim the video, then of course iMovie can be used.

Step by step procedure

On your iOS device ie. on iPhone or iPad, open the application iMovie. Here then create new project and select an option Movie. Then go to the application import the video you want to trim – choose find it in the list, and then click on at the bottom of the screen Create a movie. Once loaded, click to the bottom where it is located video timeline, to make a video marked. You can tell if a video is tagged by making a gesture around it orange rectangle. Then in the upper right part of the display click on magnifying glass icon. This activates pro mode cropping videos. Using a gesture pinch-to-zoom so zoom the video as you require. Once you are satisfied with the result, click on in the upper left corner Done. The video is then processed and then previewed. If you want to save it, click on at the bottom of the screen share icon and select from the options Save the video. At the end, make a choice size (quality) export. After that, you can find your exported video in the application Fotky.

If you want to trim the video exactly and you don't want to use gestures, you can use other applications. One of the better ones is, for example, Video Crop - Crop and Resize Videos. You can again download the application for free in the App Store. You can easily use several preset options to trim the video. You can be sure that the video will be cut exactly according to your wishes.
