Most users of Apple products use the native Mail application to manage their email inboxes. It is definitely not surprising, as it offers most of the features that ordinary users may need. However, if you need an e-mail client with more advanced functions, then you have to reach for a competitive solution. The native Mail application still lacks many important functions, although Apple is still trying to improve it. We also received several new and long-awaited features in Mail with the arrival of iOS 16, and of course we cover them in our magazine.

How to Unsend Email on iPhone

One of the new features in the Mail app from iOS 16 is finally the option to cancel sending an email. This is useful, for example, if you send an e-mail, but then find out that you made a mistake, forgot to add an attachment or did not fill in the recipient of the copy. Competing email clients have been offering this feature for several years, but unfortunately it took longer for Apple's Mail. To cancel sending an email, do the following:

  • First, on your iPhone, move to the application in the classic way Mail
  • Then open it interface for new email, so create a new one or reply.
  • Once you do so, fill in the classic way requisites, i.e. recipient, subject, message, etc.
  • Once you have your email ready, send it send in the classic way.
  • However, after sending, tap at the bottom of the screen Cancel send.

It is therefore possible to simply cancel sending an email in Mail from iOS 16 in the above-mentioned way. By default, you have exactly 10 seconds to cancel sending an email - after that there is no going back. However, if this time does not suit you and you would like to increase it, you can. Just go to Settings → Mail → Time to cancel sending, where you select the option that suits you.
