Apple is one of the few technology companies that care about the health of their customers. On the iPhone, it is possible to monitor your health in the native Health application - here you can find, for example, information about steps taken, floors climbed, calories burned, etc. However, if you also own an Apple Watch in addition to an iPhone, much more data and information will suddenly appear in Health, which are even more accurate. Apart from that, you can also invoke SOS distress on apple devices in case you find yourself in any emergency situation. For example, the newer Apple Watch can even call for help if you fall, which has saved your life more than once.

How to change the method for invoking SOS on iPhone

If you want to call an SOS emergency on your iPhone, most of you probably know that you just need to hold down the side button with the volume button (on older models only the side button) until you find yourself in the interface where you can turn off the apple phone. Here, just slide your finger over the Emergency SOS slider to start a countdown and call the emergency line. However, this procedure may not be entirely suitable in an emergency situation, as it is lengthy and you have to touch the display. In iOS, however, there is an option available, with which it is possible to invoke an SOS emergency by pressing the side button five times, or by holding it down for a long time. To activate this SOS option, proceed as follows:

  • First, you need to switch to the native app on your iPhone Settings.
  • Once you've done that, scroll down to locate and open the section Distress SOS.
  • This will take you to the section where you can manage the options for the SOS distress function.
  • Here, you just need to activate with the switch Call on hold whether 5-press call.

So, using the above procedure, you can set up two more and easier ways to trigger a distress SOS on your iPhone. Either you can activate only one method, or you can activate both at the same time to increase your chances of invoking a distress SOS if necessary. It should be mentioned that Hold Call option is available from iOS 15.2. In the same section below, you can also set up emergency contacts, which, in the event that you trigger an SOS emergency, will receive a message about this fact, together with the approximate location. If the location of the user who triggered the SOS emergency changes, the emergency contacts will be updated gradually.
