With the arrival of the iOS and iPadOS 14 operating systems, we saw several new and great functions that most of us have been actively using for a long time. In any case, it goes without saying that Apple cannot meet the tastes of absolutely every user, so some users do not praise the new functions from iOS and iPadOS 14, on the contrary. Major new features you'll notice right away when you first launch the new systems include revamped widgets and the App Library. In this article, we're going to take a look at the new widgets together - specifically, how you can create your own widget with the smart kit. You can then view a complete tutorial below that will show you how widgets can be added to your home screen.

How to Create a Custom Smart Kit Widget on iPhone

As for redesigned widgets, in the new systems, in addition to the classic ones, you can also use the so-called smart set, which is a widget that hides several other widgets. In addition, this widget should automatically change to display the content that is most important to you at the moment. This smart kit is ready for you, however, it may not suit everyone. That's exactly why you might find it useful to create your own smart set, in which you can put only the widgets you want. Let's see how to do it together.

  • First, of course, you must have your iPhone or iPad updated to iOS 14, therefore iPadS 14.
  • If you meet the above condition, then move to home screen.
  • On the home screen after swipe from left to right, to move to the widgets screen.
  • Then get off here all the way down and click the button Edit.
  • First, you need to add the first widget to be displayed.
  • Pro addition widget, click on the top left the + button. After that you will find a widget, which you need and with the button Add a widget add it.
  • This will add the widget to the free space on the widget page.
  • Now it is necessary for you to perform the same process, but with second widget, to be displayed.
  • As soon as you have the second widget on the screen, it's simple grab and drag it to the first added widget.
  • Repeat like this all other widgets, which of course must be the same size.
  • After you have your smart set ready, click on the top right All done.

This way, you have successfully created a smart kit, simply put several widgets in one. As I mentioned above, the smart set should work in such a way that the display of the widget will change during the day. However, to tell the truth, the system itself never automatically changed the widget for me. So the change must be made by hand, by swiping over the widget finger from top to bottom. Of course, you can also add the smart set on the iPhone to the page between applications, see this guide.
