With the arrival of the latest operating systems from Apple, we have seen countless new functions that are definitely worth it. Traditionally, most of these functions are, of course, part of iOS 15, although I certainly do not want to offend the other systems - there are more than enough new features in those as well. As part of iOS 15, we saw, among other things, the new function Live Text, i.e. Live Text, which can recognize text on any image, and then convert it into a form in which we can work with it, just as, for example, on the Internet or in a text editor . Live Text can be used in Photos, Camera or Safari, but it doesn't end there.

How to insert text using Live Text on iPhone

You can use the Live Text function within the aforementioned applications - if you read our magazine regularly, you certainly know how to do it. In addition to that, Live Text can be used in one more way that many people don't know about. In particular, you can use it in practically any text field in which you can type or insert text. With Live Text, you can quickly and easily enter text into these text boxes using your camera, without having to move anywhere else from the app. If you would like to try this option, proceed as follows:

  • First, you need to be on your iPhone moved to the text field, in which you want to insert the text.
  • Once you have done so, to this box tap your finger which will bring up a menu of options.
  • Within this menu, you must then tap on Live Text icon (bordered text).
    • Sometimes an option appears instead of the Live Text icon Scan text.
  • After tapping the Live Text feature at the bottom of the screen the camera interface will appear.
  • Then yours point the camera at the text you want to insert into the text field, and wait for recognition.
  • Once the text is recognized, it is automatically inserted into the text field.
  • Pro confirmation of insertion it is still necessary to click the button anyway insert all the way down.

Using the above procedure, it is therefore possible to simply insert text into text fields on your iPhone or iPad via the Live Text function. This can come in handy in some situations, for example when you need to send text from a document via Messages, etc. In addition to Messages, Live Text can also be used in Safari, Notes and other applications, including third-party ones. Simply put, wherever you can paste copied content. However, be aware that Live Text does not quite understand the Czech diacritics. Of course, for Live Text to work, you need to have it turned on - for more information about activation, just go to the article I'm attaching below.
