The operating systems iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15 were introduced a few months ago, at this year's WWDC developer conference. At this conference, which is always held in the summer, new major versions of operating systems are traditionally presented every year. Immediately after the end of the presentation, Apple released the first beta versions that could be downloaded by developers, later also by testers. Since then, we have been covering all the mentioned operating systems in our magazine and showing news and improvements. In this article, we will take a look at a great feature from iOS 15 together.

How to use Live Text in Camera on iPhone

Of course, the most new functions of all the introduced systems are part of iOS 15. We can mention, for example, the Focus modes, or the revised FaceTime and Safari applications, or Live Text, which we will focus on in this article. Thanks to the Live Text function, you can easily convert text from any image or photo into a form in which you can easily work with it, as well as for example on the web, in a note, etc. This function is available directly in the Photos application, but did you know that , that you can also use it in real time when using the Camera application? If not, just proceed as follows:

  • First, you need to open the native app on your iOS 15 iPhone Camera.
  • Once you do so, aim the lens at some text, which you want to convert.
  • It will then appear in the lower right corner of the screen Live Text icon - click on her.
  • After that, it will appear to you separately an image, in which it is possible work with the text, i.e. mark it, copy it, etc.
  • As soon as you want to stop working with the text, just tap anywhere sideways.

Using the above method, it is therefore possible to use the Live Text function in real time in iOS 15, directly in the Camera. If you don't see the Live Text function, you probably don't have it activated. In this case, you just need to add the English language to iOS 15, and then simply activate the function - you can find the complete procedure in the article I have attached below. In conclusion, I will just add that Live Text is only available on iPhone XS and later, that is, on devices with an A12 Bionic chip and later.
