Apple has improved many applications and introduced new functions within the new operating systems in the form of iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15. We can mention, for example, the Focus modes, thanks to which you can be more productive, in terms of redesigned applications, we can mention Safari or FaceTime, for example. Until recently, only testers and developers could try these new features in beta versions, but a few days ago, Apple finally released the public versions. In our magazine, we are constantly focusing on all the news so that you don't miss anything. Let's take a look at another option from iOS 15 together in this article.

How to change microphone mode in FaceTime on iPhone

When introducing iOS 15, Apple spent a really long time presenting the new features in FaceTime. Among the biggest improvements is that we no longer need to have a specific person saved in contacts to initiate a call. We can simply invite her to the call using a link. In addition, the user in question does not even have to have an Apple device, because if he opens the link on, for example, Windows or Android, the FaceTime web interface will open for him, which only requires an active Internet connection. If you still use FaceTime on your iPhone, you might be pleased with the new microphone modes in iOS 15, which allow you to adjust how the other party can hear you. The procedure is as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the app on your iPhone with iOS 15 Facetime.
  • Once you do so, start a call in the classic way.
  • Subsequently, after starting the call, open the control center:
    • iPhone with Touch ID: swipe up from the bottom edge of the display;
    • iPhone with Face ID: swipe down from the top right of the display.
  • At the top of the control center, then click on the element named Microphone mode.
  • After that, it's enough choose, which of the three available modes you want to use.
  • To activate the mode, you only need to touch it with your finger they tapped.

So, through the above method, you can change the microphone mode on iPhone in FaceTime call. Specifically, you can choose one of three modes, which include Standard, Voice Isolation, and Wide Spectrum. Standard will ensure that the sound will be transmitted in the classic way as before. If you activate the second mode voice isolation, so the other party will primarily hear your voice. All surrounding disturbing sounds will be filtered out, which is useful for example in a cafe, etc. The last mode is the one called Wide spectrum, which allows the other party to hear absolutely everything, including disturbing ambient sounds, and even more than in Standard mode. Finally, I'll just mention that microphone modes can also be used in other applications that use a microphone, not only in FaceTime.
