A few days ago, we finally got to see the release of the public versions of the new operating systems - specifically iOS and iPadOS 15, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15. So if you own a supported device, in the case of iOS 15 it's an iPhone 6s or later, that means you you can finally install new versions of systems. Of course, all new operating systems offer countless new features and improvements that are definitely worth it and that you're sure to love. We can mention, for example, the new Focus mode, as well as changes in the FaceTime application and redesigned Safari. And it is with Safari that users who have updated to iOS 15 have such a minor problem.

How to bring the address bar back up in Safari on iPhone

If you open Safari for the first time in iOS 15, you will most likely be surprised. No matter how hard you search, you will not be able to find the address bar at the top of the screen, which is used for searching and opening websites. Apple decided to improve the address bar and move it to the bottom of the screen. In this case, the intention was good - the Californian giant wanted to make it easier to use Safari with one hand. Some individuals are comfortable with this change, including me, in any case, many more individuals are not. This change in the position of the address bar already happened in beta, and the good news is that later Apple added an option to set the original view. So the procedure to bring the address bar back to the top is as follows:

  • First, you need to open the native app on your iOS 15 iPhone Settings.
  • Once you've done that, scroll down a bit to locate and click on the section Safari.
  • You will then find yourself in the preferences of the native Safari browser, where you can go down again below, and that to the category Panels.
  • You can already find it here graphical representation of two interfaces. Select to return the address bar back to the top One panel.

So, using the above procedure, an iPhone with iOS 15 can be set to move the address bar back to the top, just like it was in previous iOS versions. It's definitely nice that Apple gave users a choice - in many other cases it didn't make such a compromise and users simply had to get used to it. Personally, I think that even the location of the address bar is just a matter of habit. In the beginning, when I first saw this change, I was of course surprised. But after a few days of use, the location of the address bar at the bottom of the screen didn't feel strange anymore, because I just got used to it.
