With the arrival of new versions of operating systems from Apple every year, we can look forward to a huge batch of new functions and other conveniences that are always worth it. Of course, it was no different this year - the apple company even introduced so many new products within this year's new systems that we can focus on them even now, that is, several months after their release. Of course, we have already looked at the biggest and most interesting features in our magazine, but it goes without saying that we can also enjoy less important features that are not written about much anywhere. In this guide, we'll look together at one of the new options within the Dictaphone application in iOS 15.

How to change the playback speed of the recording on the iPhone in Dictaphone

We can use the recorder on the iPhone to make any audio recording. It can be useful, for example, in schools for recording lessons, or perhaps at work for recording various meetings, etc. From time to time you may find yourself in a situation where you want to remember some part of a lesson or meeting, and an audio recording is ideal for this. If you find that you would like to play the recording faster or slower for any reason, then you would look for this option in older versions of iOS in vain. We waited until the arrival of iOS 15. So you can simply speed up or slow down the recording in the Dictaphone, similar to for example on YouTube, as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the native app on your iPhone Dictaphone.
  • Once you do, you are select and click a specific record, which you want to speed up or slow down.
  • Then, after clicking on the record, click on in its lower left part settings icon.
  • This will show you a menu with preferences, where it is enough use the slider to change the playback speed.

Using the above procedure, it is therefore possible to simply change the playback speed of the recording on the iPhone in the Dictaphone, i.e. slow it down or speed it up. As soon as you change the playback speed of the recording, the rate of acceleration or deceleration will be shown directly within the slider. To restore the original playback speed, you can click Reset if necessary. In addition to the possibility to change the playback speed of the recording, this section also contains functions for skipping silent passages and for improving the recording.
