Apple presented its new operating systems a few months ago at the WWDC21 developer conference. In particular, we saw the presentation of iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15. All these operating systems were available for early access immediately after the presentation, within the framework of beta versions. Therefore, the first developers and testers could try it immediately after the presentation. Currently, however, the mentioned systems, in addition to macOS 12 Monterey, are also available to the general public for several weeks. Unfortunately, Apple users have to wait a while longer. In our magazine, we focus on improvements and news from new systems, and in this article we will again focus on iOS 15.

How to Play Background Sounds on iPhone

iOS 15 includes a lot of new features and other improvements that are definitely worth it. We can mention, for example, the Focus modes, the Live Text function or the redesigned Safari or FaceTime applications. In addition, there are also other functions available that are not talked about much - we will show one of them in this article. Each of us needs to calm down now and then - we can use different sounds that play in the background for this. If you wanted to play such sounds on your iPhone, you had to download a third-party application that made them available to you. However, several of these sounds are newly available in iOS 15 natively. The procedure to start playback is as follows:

  • First, on an iPhone with iOS 15, you need to go to Settings.
  • Here then a little bit below unclick the box Control Center.
  • Once you do, get off Dolu to the category Additional controls.
  • In the list of elements, look for the one with the name Hearing and tap next to it the + icon.
  • This will add the element to the control center. By dragging you can change its position.
  • Subsequently, on the iPhone in the classic way open the control center:
    • iPhone with Face ID: swipe down from the top right edge of the display;
    • iPhone with Touch ID: swipe up from the bottom edge of the display.
  • In the control center, then click on the element Hearing (ear icon).
  • Then in the interface that appears, tap at the bottom of the display Background soundsí to start playing them.
  • You can then tap on the option above Background sounds a choose a sound, to be played. You can also change volume.

Using the above method, it is possible to start playing sounds in the background on an iPhone with iOS 15, without the need to install any application. After adding Hearing to the Control Center, all you have to do is open it and then start playing. There are a total of six background sounds, namely balanced noise, high noise, deep noise, ocean, rain and stream. However, most users would certainly appreciate it if it were possible to set the time after which the sounds should be turned off automatically, which can be useful when falling asleep. You cannot set this option in the classic way, but in any case, we have prepared a shortcut for you in which you can directly set after how many minutes the background sounds should be paused. You can also add a shortcut to the desktop for easy launch.
