New operating systems in the form of iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15 have been with us for several long months. Specifically, we saw the presentation at the developer conference WWDC21, which took place this June. Immediately after the end of the presentation, the first beta versions were released, which were initially intended only for developers, then also for testers. Currently, however, the mentioned systems, except for macOS 12 Monterey, are already so-called "outside", i.e. available to the general public. This means that anyone can install the new systems as long as they have a supported device. In our magazine, we are constantly looking at new features and improvements from the mentioned systems - in this guide, we will cover iOS 15.

How to wipe data and reset settings on iPhone

iOS 15 includes a lot of really big improvements. We can mention, for example, the Focus modes, which directly replaced the original Do Not Disturb mode, as well as the Live Text function for converting text from an image or, for example, the redesigned Safari and FaceTime applications. But in addition to the big improvements, there are also smaller improvements available. In this case, we can mention the interface with which you can restore or reset your iPhone in different ways. So if you want to restore or reset your device in iOS 15, you just need to follow the following procedure:

  • First, you need to go to the native app on your iOS 15 iPhone Settings.
  • Once you've done that, scroll down a bit to click on the section named In general.
  • Then get off all the way down and press the box Transfer or reset iPhone.
  • Here you just need to at the bottom of the screen as needed they chose one of two options:
    • Reset: a list of all reset options will appear;
    • Delete data and settings: you run the wizard to erase all data and restore the device to factory settings.

Using the above method, it is therefore possible to delete data or reset settings in iOS 15. Additionally, when you reset your device, you'll see a new interface that's clearer and tells you exactly what a specific option will do. In addition to this, iOS 15 includes an option to easily get ready for your new iPhone by tapping Get Started at the top of the screen. When using this function, Apple "lends" you free space on iCloud, to which you can then transfer all the data from your old device. Then, as soon as you get a new device, when setting it up, all you have to do is choose that you want to transfer all data from iCloud, thanks to which you will be able to use the new iPhone immediately, while all the data from the old device will be downloaded in the background.
