iOS 16.1 finally includes the long-awaited iCloud Photo Library Sharing feature. Originally, this new feature was supposed to be available in the first version of iOS 16, but unfortunately Apple didn't have time to properly test and complete it, so we simply had to wait. If you activate the Shared Photo Library on iCloud, a special shared library will be created to which you and other participants of your choice can contribute content. But in addition to adding content, these participants can also edit and delete content, so they should be really close individuals that you can trust.

How to switch between shared and personal library view on iPhone

Since the activation of Shared Photo Library on iCloud creates two different libraries, it is necessary to be able to switch between them. Specifically, a classic personal library will be created, to which only you can contribute and is therefore private, together with a new shared library, to which you contribute together with other participants. As for switching between the display of the shared and personal library in Photos, it is not complicated, just proceed as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the app on your iPhone Photos.
  • Then go to the section in the bottom menu Library, open if necessary latest photos.
  • Once you have done so, press in the upper right corner three dots icon.
  • This will display menu, in which you can already choose at the top, which of the libraries you want to view.

So, in the above way, you can switch between the shared and personal library view on your iPhone. Specifically, you have three options to choose from - if you choose Both libraries, so the content from both libraries will be displayed at the same time, by selecting Personal library only your private content will appear and tap on Shared library in turn, only content shared with other participants will be displayed. As for moving content between the shared and personal library, you just need to click on the stick figure icon in the top right of a certain photo or video and perform the transfer from the menu.
