In the new operating system iOS 16, we saw above all a redesigned lock screen, which finally came with many long-awaited functions. Specifically, apple users can create several lock screens with the possibility of individual customization. For example, there is an option to change the font style and color of the time, in addition, it is finally possible to add widgets to the lock screen that can inform about various things and statuses. Users can then simply change their lock screen by holding their finger on it, then find and select it in the interface.

How to set up automatic change of lock screen, home screen and watch face on iPhone

Some of you may have already wondered if there isn't a procedure through which it would be possible to automatically change not only the lock screen, but also the desktop and watch face under predetermined criteria. Unfortunately, there is no direct procedure for automatic change, and nothing similar is even available in Shortcuts, i.e. in automations. However, there is a workaround - just use the focus modes, with which the lock screen, desktop and watch face can be linked. Thanks to this, an automatic change can occur every time the selected concentration mode is activated, which can be activated automatically in various ways. To set up this gadget, follow these steps:

  • First, go to the native app on your iPhone Settings.
  • Once you have done so, move to the section titled Concentration.
  • Then you are in the list select and click the focus mode, with which to change the lock screen, desktop and watch face.
  • All you have to do here is scroll down to the category Screen customization.
  • In this category, then click on Choose depending on what you want to associate with the focus mode.
  • Finally, only in the interface choose which lock screen, desktop or watch face you want to use.

Using the above procedure, it is therefore possible to somehow automate the switching of the lock screen, desktop or watch face on your iPhone with iOS 16. All you have to do to make changes is to activate the selected concentration mode. Of course, this is not a completely ideal procedure due to the need to link focus, but we can only hope that Apple will soon add the option for a simple automatic change, or that we will at least see these options added to the automations in the Shortcuts application.
