How to schedule a message to be sent on an iPhone on a certain day and time could be of interest to every Apple user. If you would like to schedule a message to be sent in iOS or iPadOS at the moment, you will not be able to do so. This option does not exist within the Messages application, at most you can create a reminder to remind you to send a message - this is not an ideal solution either. Despite the fact that there is no classic solution for the timing of sending a message, there is an option that you can use for this. You don't need any additional application for this, the solution is completely safe and after a few settings you will manage the whole process in a matter of seconds.

How to schedule a message to be sent on a specific day and time on iPhone

I mentioned in the paragraph above that you don't need any third-party app to schedule a message. This whole process can be easily done in the Shortcuts application, i.e. in the section with automations. To find out how, proceed as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the native app on your iPhone Abbreviations.
  • Once you've done that, tap on at the bottom of the screen Automation.
  • Then tap on the option Create personal automation (or before that on the + icon at the top right).
  • On the next screen, click the box at the top Day time.
  • Here you are now tick possibility Day time and choose time, when the message is to be sent.
  • Below in the category Repetition tick the option once a month and choose the, when will the message be sent to me
  • After setting the parameters, click the button at the top right Next.
  • Now tap on the option in the middle Add action.
  • A menu will open, scroll down to find the action Poslat zpravu (or look for it).
  • At this event you then select contact to whom you want to send the message.
    • If the contact is not in the contact selection, tap on + Contact and search for it.
  • Now, in the block with the action, click in the gray box Message.
  • Once you've done that, enter the box using the keyboard type a message that you want to send.
  • After entering the message, press the button in the upper right Next.
  • On the next screen, using the switch deactivate possibility Ask before starting.
  • A dialog box will appear in which press Don't ask.
  • Finally, just confirm the creation of the automation by clicking on All done.

So you can easily schedule a message to be sent in the above way. Once you have created the automation, you can easily edit it for other cases. Just click on it in the Automation section and edit the contact to whom the message should be sent, along with the wording of the message. Of course, you can select more than one contact if you need to send a message at once. However, the only "limitation" with this automation is - the message will be sent automatically every month, on the day you specified during the setup. If you want to prevent this, it is necessary that you either modify the automation within the month or simply delete it - just swipe it from right to left and confirm the deletion. So this is not a perfect solution and it would definitely be better to have this option natively in Messages. However, I personally think that this is an acceptable solution - we simply have to work with what we have. Do you have a favorite automation that you use? Let us know in the comments.
