It should be noted that this is not a mistake - O2, as the last Czech Wi-Fi operator, did not support calls, that is, until today. If you are an O2 customer and do not have Wi-Fi calling turned on yet, or if you are a customer of any operator and want to make sure you have Wi-Fi calling available, proceed as follows:
- Open the native app on your iPhone Settings.
- Here, go down a bit until you come to a box Telephone, which you click.
- In this settings section, then click on the category phone calls item Wi-Fi calls.
- Finally, you just need to use the switch activated possibility Wi-Fi calling on this iPhone.
- If a dialog box appears, activate the function in it confirm.

However, this whole procedure is the simplest and ideal procedure, which may not work in many cases - due to the outdated version of the carrier settings. Your iPhone will update your carrier settings in the background from time to time, and it can take several long days for the automatic update to happen. Fortunately, however, this entire process can usually be sped up. Just proceed as follows:
- Open the native app on your iPhone Settings.
- Click on the item here In general.
- In this settings section, tap on the option Information.
- It should now appear on your display informace that a carrier settings update is available.
- Update operator settings confirm a wait until there is an update.
- Now the device reboot and using the procedure indicated above check if it is an option Wi-Fi calls available.
According to available information, Wi-Fi calls should work on the carrier settings version in the case of O2 44.1 – you can find this version in Settings -> General -> Information, where you just need to get off below and check the version number in the line Operator. In case you don't see the update, there are a few other scenarios. Some users received a special today configuration SMS message that made Wi-Fi calling available. So try to wait until tomorrow and if you don't receive the SMS, call yours operator. If even after that you are not able to activate Wi-Fi calls, ask for it to be sent at the store or online new SIM cards. Some of you may be wondering if Wi-Fi calling works under eSIM too - in this case I have good news, because it really does. Finally, I will mention that Wi-Fi calling is available on all iPhone 6s and later.

It is an error in the article, the last setting of the O2 operator is 41.1, not 44.1 as erroneously stated in the article. With 41.1 WiFi calling WORKS
How does it work if Wi-Fi is unstable or has a bad signal? Does the phone evaluate the quality of Wi-Fi before making a call?
Wifi calls are completely useless if you have unstable Wi-Fi. I speak from my own experience. After disabling Wi-Fi calling, phone call quality improved by 100%.
Or try a paid Odorik call... 0,59 czk/min., sms for 1 czk... But it requires a stable internet...
What about virtual operators? After all, it still doesn't work with Kaktus.
I had it activated, but the quality of the calls was rather worse, because when the phone was connected to a slower WIFI, the call was interrupted, the quality was poor, etc.
I've been happy since I turned that option off. I do not recommend wifi calls.

It's a great thing, I'll call even in areas where operators don't have a signal or have overloaded networks - (residential areas). The only thing that bothers me is that when the phone thinks it has an operator signal, it jumps to it and the call drops. I would like to have the option of only WiFi calling in some locations.
After updating the operator settings (o2) and restarting, the option to activate Wi-Fi calls appeared in the menu.
I have WiFi calls set up with Vodafone for a long time. Recently, however, connecting takes a longer time and the called party cannot hear me for the first 2-3 seconds (when I call even though I am called), so it seems that I am calling and I am silent on the phone: in those 2-3 seconds, I only need to introduce myself, but the called at that time he hears silence… I don't blame it on the WiFi, but it is possible that there is some connection. Anyway, it's annoying. It's not tied to a specific phone (multiple iPhones of different ages do).

wifi call is one big piece of crap. explain to me why I should make phone calls over the Internet when I pay for connection with the operator? it is of no use outside the wifi zone, and there also because of instability. and at home/at work I won't mine the line's capacity, even if it is unlimited, and leave the profit to the operator? Example: I live in a village, there is a worse signal in the house and the only solution is wifi calling. Yes, I go outside and call, but I can also call like this from the couch at home. And will the bank call you on Whatsapp? A lot of people call me and you are not interested in whatsup or skype. I have been using wifi calling for more than a year and I am satisfied.
