From time to time you may find yourself in a situation where you decide to buy a new iPhone. In such a situation, you can of course reach for a phone that is brand new. However, if you want to save, then nothing prevents you from finding a used phone at the bazaar, for example. Damaged second-hand devices are then often bought by various repairers who fix the iPhone and then sell it. However, if you decide to buy such an iPhone, you should find out in advance whether or not Find is active on it.

How to remotely check if Find My is active on an iPhone

Verifying that Find It is active on the iPhone is very important. If you buy a device with active Find It, it will never become 100% yours - that is, unless the seller gives you his Apple ID credentials, which can be used to turn off Find It. In addition, if you buy an iPhone that is locked and damaged, it will not be able to be used at all due to active Find It. The good news is that you can easily monitor Find status remotely. You just need to know the serial number (or IMEI) of your device and have an active internet connection. Then the procedure is as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the website in any web browser AppleSN.info.
  • Once you do so, in the text box that appears, enter the serial number (or IMEI) your device.
  • Then click on in the right part of the text field magnifying glass icon.
  • After clicking on the magnifying glass, the serial number will start to be decoded. This action can take tens of seconds.
  • Once the decoding is complete, you it will display all the information about your iPhone.
  • All you have to do here is drive off below and find the line Find my iPhone Status.
  • If it is here on, so that means it is Find on iPhone active, if off, so inactive.

In addition to using the above procedure to find out if Find is active on the iPhone, it can also view other information. Specifically, color, storage size, age, date of manufacture, place of manufacture and several other information can be found. You can find out information about your Mac in the same way - after entering its serial number, you will be shown information about the model, country of purchase, color, age of the device, date of manufacture, country of manufacture and more.

Where can I find the serial number?

If you don't know where to find the new serial number of your device, it's not difficult. The serial number of iPhone and iPad can be found with certainty in Settings -> General -> Information. On a Mac, just click on  -> About this Mac, where you will find the serial number in a new window. If you do not have access to these sections, the serial number can also be found on the product box and in some cases directly on the body of the Apple device. All the places where the serial number can be found can be found in the article I am attaching below.
