The more astute among you must have noticed the fact that alongside iOS 13, the operating system for Apple watches, watchOS 6, was also released. Along with it, a lot of new functions and applications arrived in the operating system, which include, for example, Noise, Cycle Tracking and others. In addition to new applications, the Apple Watch has also recently received its own App Store, which you can browse directly on the watch. But as they say, there is strength in simplicity, and I was personally most interested in a new feature called Chimes. It is not a function that can save lives, but it can announce every new hour, half hour or quarter hour with a haptic response or sound. Let's take a look together at where you can activate the Chime function and how you can set it up.

How to activate Chime function in watchOS 6

On your Apple Watch, on which you have the latest operating system installed Watch 6, move to the native app Settings. Once you've done that, go down here for something lower, until you hit the box disclosure, which you click. Go down again in this section below, where you come across an option Carillon, which you tap. The function is then simply switched on activate. If you want to choose the intervals after which the watch will send you notifications, click on the option Schedule. Here you can already choose notifications after hours, after 30 minutes, or after 15 minutes. In option Sounds you can then choose from two sounds to play along with the haptic feedback. But keep in mind that you will need to have silent mode disabled to play the sounds.

As I mentioned in the introduction, as part of watchOS 6, a new Noise application was added to this operating system. You can use it to monitor the level of surrounding traffic. If your Apple Watch evaluates that you are in an environment with high noise intensity for an extended period of time, the watch will notify you of this information with a notification. After that, it is up to you whether you will risk permanent hearing damage, or whether you prefer to leave the area.
