The hype surrounding 5G technology reminds me of the time when operators were rolling out 3G technology. Its arrival meant the arrival of better quality calls, faster data transfer and the advent of complete innovations, such as video calls or watching videos on YouTube. The later transition to 4G was more in the spirit of speed. The current hype around 5G technology is mainly built by companies that work on all kinds of electronics, including the intelligent one, which can really experience a golden age thanks to 5G.

5G technology is primarily characterized by a several-fold increase in transmission speeds. In ideal conditions, users can observe an increase compared to 4G up to the levelě 10 or 30multiple, but normally it will be more like 6x or 7x faster mobile connection. For autonomous vehicles, 5G could potentially create a space for connected transportation where smart cars could communicate with each other and, in theory, couldy prevent accidents through the use of collective AI.

But this is still the music of the future. But what can really start to change soon thanks to 5G technology, will be working from home or home office. Today, working from home is preferred mainly by the younger generation of managers. In Upwork's 2019 Future Workforce Report, 74% of millennial or Gen Z managers supervise remote employees, compared to just 58% of boomer managers.

In order to work from home, however, it is also necessary that the employee can be actively connected to the Internet and the internal networks of the company he works for. However, when working with a huge amount of data, it is impossible, or rather very complicated, and this is where the first advantage of 5G connection comes in. Working with the corporate cloud is much faster.

Downloading a movie, or in this case corporate data of the same size, can take several minutes on a 4G connection. 5G will reduce the waiting time to a few seconds. For the future growth of the home office, it is also gratifying that the 5G connection brings modern security gadgets, especially ine VPN connection. Companies can therefore be pleased that there is a lower chance of someone being misusedho home office to hack into their infrastructures.

The significantly lower response is also reflected in more reliable, better quality and more realistic video conferencing. According to CTIA Trade Group Communications Director Nick Ludlum mohou users can reach thanks to the 5G connection Of that, that multi-person video calls will be lag-free, voice "cyborgization" and artifact-free HD image. Krish Ramakrishnan, co-founder of video conferencing company BlueJeans, also has a positive outlook for 5G video calling. He is convinced that thanks to the possibilities of 5G, mohou home office workers feel less like second-class citizens.

Another advantage of corporate communication in connection with the home office is the almost instant sharing of documents and presentations using platforms such as GoToMeeting. Due to the significantly higher transfer speed, the chances of the presenter having to check that everyone has loaded the same page or slide.

However, the operators have the final say. Even though Qualcomm expects 200 million 5G devices to be sold this year, providers like Verizon or Sprint can negatively affect everything. It was these two that decided that instead of a natural infrastructure upgrade like it was with 3G and 4G 5G connection will be provided as a premium and therefore more expensive service.
