If you own an iPhone or iPad with the smallest storage size, it can be very easy to run out of storage space. One argument would certainly be to go for a device with more storage capacity next time - but that's not the solution we want. So, if you have run out of storage space on your iOS device, then all days are not over. In iOS 11, there is one great trick called app snoozing. You can easily gain precious megabytes or even gigabytes of free space on your device by using app caching.

How does app snooze work in iOS?

Apple defines app snooze as follows:

"When you suspend applications, the space occupied by the application will be freed up. Related documents and data will be preserved. If the app is available in the App Store, you'll get your data back when you reinstall it."

In practice, it works in such a way that if, for example, you download a game from the App Store and perform a procedure in it, when you postpone the game, its data, including the saved procedure, will not be deleted, but only the application itself. If you want to return to the game at some point in the future, just re-download the app from the App Store, launch it, and you'll be right where you left off.

How to snooze apps in iOS

  • Let's open Settings
  • Here we click on the box In general
  • Let's open the item Storage: iPhone (iPad)
  • We will wait until the graphic processing is loaded
  • Then we'll go down below, where all applications are located
  • The application that we want to put aside, we'll click
  • We select the option for the clicked application Postpone the application
  • We will confirm postponement

In the case of Fortnite, I was able to save money using the application delay 140 MB places - that's certainly enough for a few photos or a short video.

If you decide to reinstall the suspended application, just go to general again and click on Reinstall the application in the suspended application. The second option is to open the App Store, search for the app and download it again.
