Smart watches from Apple look simply great. But have you ever thought about whether they are also doing great in terms of cleanliness? We wear watches on our wrists most of the day - we travel with them, we exercise, we go to the store. During these activities, our Apple Watch manages to catch a lot of dirt invisible to the eye. In today's article, we will suggest five ways to keep your Apple Watch clean.

Don't be afraid of water

One of the biggest advantages of the Apple Watch is its water resistance. Thanks to it, you can do part of the cleaning while you are washing your hands. Simply let the stream of water from the tap hit your watch from all sides for a while - just avoid using soap or detergent. After washing the watch, dry the watch slightly, swipe up from the bottom of the display to activate the Control Center and tap the drop icon. Then start turning the digital crown of the watch to squeeze out the excess water.

To all corners

Dirt often gets caught on your Apple Watch not on the display, but in places where the watch comes into contact with the skin, or in places that are harder to access. That's why you should take your Apple Watch off your wrist at least once a day and lightly wipe it from all sides. If you see larger dirt or even greasy stains, apply a suitable cleaning agent to a smooth cotton cloth and carefully clean the watch from all sides.

Strap joints

You might be surprised how much dirt can get caught in the places where you attach your Apple Watch straps. So you should regularly pay attention to these places as well. Remove the band from your Apple Watch and use a brush or ear cleaning stick to gently clean the areas where the edge of the band fits. You can also use a disinfectant - Apple recommends a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution for this purpose. You can also use the cleaning spray PanzerGlass Spray Twice a Day.

Cleaning the straps

Even the straps of your Apple Watch deserve a thorough cleaning from time to time. It always depends on what material they are made of. Probably the easiest is to clean the silicone straps, which you can wash with a stream of water or wipe with a cloth with a cleaning agent. You can safely throw the textile straps into the washing machine with your clothes - just be sure to place them in special bags (or tie them in a clean sock) so that the velcro fasteners do not catch on the clothes during washing. You can wipe the leather straps with special wipes designed for cleaning leather and leatherette, and if you want to treat your metal straps to a really luxurious level of care, you can get them an ultrasonic cleaner that can handle, for example, your family silverware, jewelry and bijouterie.

Get ready for cleaning

If you want to really play around with the hygiene of your Apple Watch, you will certainly welcome a list of things you can use for cleaning. To remove stronger dirt, you can use not only the aforementioned moistened cloth, but also a brush or an ultra-soft single-bundle (clean) toothbrush. A plastic or wooden toothpick can be used carefully and without much pressure to remove dirt from hard-to-reach places - just be careful of debris. Don't be afraid to use disinfection - the places where your watch comes into contact with the skin can easily grow bacteria that can cause unpleasant mischief on the skin. From time to time you should disinfect at least the back of your Apple Watch and the back of the straps if the material allows it - your skin will thank you.
