Apple's chief designer, Jony Ive, is best known for his timeless, simple, minimalist designs. Have you ever wondered if his own residence is in the same vein? You might be surprised to learn that the house Ive bought in 2012 is relatively far from austere minimalism. What does the interior of this luxury mansion look like?

Jony Ive's house spans 7274 square feet on San Francisco's Gold Coast, home of the rich and the cream of the crop. Ive paid 17 million dollars (roughly 380 million crowns) for his luxurious residence. The house was built in 1927, it is equipped with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, there is also a library, lined with oak wood, and of course also majestic fireplaces.

O house design the renowned architectural firm Willis Polk & Co., whose experts have experience with many historic buildings in San Francisco, took care of it. From the outside, we can notice the period brick facade, high windows and the entrance, framed by an arch. The five-story house has been very well maintained from the very beginning, and it shows in its appearance. The house with a spectacular view also includes a stylish garden.

Inside, we find period, authentic details – hardwood floors, high ceilings, windows with stone paneling and atmospheric lighting. In addition to the classic equipment, the building also has an elevator, lined with quality oak wood.

Right behind the main entrance we find a library with built-in shelves, a fireplace and brass chandelier, high windows provide plenty of natural light during the day. In addition to the oak paneling mentioned several times, the house is dominated by materials such as metal, stone and glass.

From the windows of the house there is a view of the iconic San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island or perhaps the San Francisco beach.

Each of the rooms in the house has its own unique charm - in the attic we can find a cozy bedroom with a living room, the common room is characterized by a pattern on the ceiling, and the kitchen on the upper floor impresses with its generous view and massive wooden paneling.

Although Ive's residence is not in the spirit of modern minimalism, he (of course) does not lack taste and style. Everything here is coordinated in detail, thought out, every detail fits perfectly into the environment of the house.
