The music streaming service Apple Music has been here with us since 2015. Specifically, it provides its subscribers with access to an incredibly extensive library with more than 100 million songs, thanks to which you can immerse yourself in listening to your favorite music, both Czech and foreign. It's also no secret that Apple has been paying attention to the service lately. It can thus look forward to a number of quite interesting novelties and improvements, which the company has now rounded off with the introduction of the Apple Music Classical platform. It is a component of Apple Music with a focus on classical music.

Although Apple has made significant progress with its music streaming service, when, for example, it introduced lossless audio streaming or high-quality Spatial Audio, we would still find several points in which it could still improve. In this article, we will therefore focus on exactly how Apple could improve the music streaming service Apple Music. There is still space here.

Better music recommendations

In the first place, there can be nothing other than recommending music. It is precisely in this area that Apple Music lags noticeably behind its competition, namely the Swedish service Spotify. Although the Apple platform tries to recommend music to its subscribers based on their musical tastes, the truth is that the solution is far from perfect. On the contrary. Therefore, many users do not rely on these abilities at all and rather completely ignore them.

On the contrary, as we have already mentioned, Spotify is completely unrivaled in this area. Thanks to advanced algorithms, subscribers are getting new and new music that can please their ears. Unfortunately, something like this is missing from Apple Music, and given the importance of this capability, an important change is definitely in order.

Remote control

We will also be inspired by the Spotify service in the next point. We are talking about the so-called remote control, which Apple Music unfortunately does not currently support. So if you play music from a Mac, for example, and then need to mute it, you have no choice but to go back to your computer and solve the issue on it. It would be much more convenient if the settings of not only the volume, but also the overall playback could be controlled from other devices that use, for example, the same Apple ID. Thanks to this, we could use, for example, an iPhone or an Apple Watch for the aforementioned control.

This shortcoming can be circumvented in a certain way. In this case, it is an application Remote for Mac, which can be installed on an iPhone or Apple Watch and used for complete control of an Apple computer. The only condition is that the devices are connected to the same network. On the other hand, this app is not free, so you have to pay for it.

Playlists with friends

A lot of Apple users often mention one rather interesting thing in connection with Apple Music. People would like to be able to share playlists with friends. In this case, however, we are not talking about simply sharing them, as well as the possibility of cooperation and mutual participation in our own lists of favorite songs. Something like this could be used, for example, by partners who could create a joint playlist and then edit it or add new songs to it, regardless of whether they are the owner or "invited".

Customize the user interface

Apple bases its products on several important pillars, among which overall simplicity is clearly included. Of course, this also applies to software, i.e. to operating systems and native applications. The native Music app, which is home to Apple Music, therefore relies on a clean and simple user interface that is divided into four main tabs – Play, Radio, Library and Search.

Although native Music is considered by many users to be a well-designed application, this does not mean that it has to suit everyone. The needs of apple growers can be different, and it would definitely not be a bad thing if the app had the option to customize the user interface. Enthusiasts would finally have the opportunity to customize the controls to their image. On the other hand, the truth is that a really small group of users have such a wish, and the arrival of this possibility is therefore very unlikely. Well, at least for now.

Equalizer

Finally, we must not forget anything other than a proper equalizer. It certainly wouldn't hurt if a simple graphic equalizer was available within Apple Music, with the help of which users could adjust the resulting sound to their liking. So it definitely wouldn't have to be anything complicated in the form of a professional solution, rather the opposite. A simple equalizer with a few preset options could please listeners immensely.
