In the current situation, most shops are closed or limited to issuing online orders only. However, the time to find Christmas gifts is slowly approaching, and at the moment shopping on the Internet seems to be the safest and most convenient option. However, some users are literally afraid of online shopping - most often because they receive a broken product, or that their payment data is stolen. In this article, we will look together at how to behave as safely as possible on the Internet to avoid various pitfalls.

Compare prices, but choose verified stores

If you are fond of certain goods, you may find that the prices often differ significantly in individual e-shops. Some individuals might say that it is not necessary to buy from better-known stores, which are often significantly more expensive than the competition. However, smaller e-shops often do not keep a large number of products in stock and delivery can take several days. If you are able to overcome this fact, there may be a situation where you will have a problem with a possible claim or return of goods. Of course, shops are regulated by certain laws, but nobody likes it when an e-shop communicates slowly, or when you can't call their phone number. On the other hand, I certainly wouldn't want to say that the more expensive the purchase, the better. It is always a good idea to read user reviews of individual stores and decide which one to use for your purchase based on them.

Don't be afraid to return the goods

In the Czech Republic, there is a law that states that you can return any goods purchased over the Internet without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving them, i.e. if they are not damaged. In other words, if you discover within 14 days of purchase that you are not satisfied with the given product for any reason, then there should be no problem with returning the money. Some stores even offer a service that allows you to extend this period, but I personally think that 14 days should be enough for most users. And if you decide later that you don't like the product, you can still sell it relatively easily, of course if there is no defect in it.

Use the possibility of personal collection

If you don't stay at home often and are unable to adapt to a courier, there is a solution for you too - you can have the goods sent to one of the drop-offs. Some larger stores offer branches in various larger cities, in smaller towns and villages you can use, for example AlzaBox, Zasilkovnu a similar services, which have recently become more and more popular. In addition, even with personal collection, you don't have to worry that you will no longer be able to return the goods within 14 days of purchase. In addition, delivery to the distribution center is also often up to twice as cheap, sometimes even free.

When shopping from the bazaar, prudence is in order

At a time when you are trying to save as much as possible, you probably reach for bazaar goods - in this case, however, it is necessary to check its condition. If possible, arrange a meeting with the seller to try the goods. If you cannot make the meeting, ask the seller for really detailed photos of the product itself. It goes without saying that you then request a phone number so that you can contact him as easily as possible in any situation. If you decide to buy a bazaar product, have it sent to you by a verified courier and, above all, ask for a tracking number for easy tracking of the location of the item. If, on the other hand, you are selling certain goods, it is a matter of course that you request money in advance. For more expensive things, don't be afraid to create a purchase contract, which will give both parties confidence and a better feeling.
