I know from my own experience that Apple MacBooks are really durable devices by laptop standards, and especially if you buy a machine with a higher configuration, you will be able to work on it happily for many years. The least durable part of the MacBook is its battery, the capacity of which gradually decreases and after a few years it will probably die completely. However, this is not a tragedy. When I encountered this problem, I found out that changing the battery is not as complicated and expensive as I thought.
When my MacBook's battery life dropped below the acceptable limit, I started thinking about replacing it. With a machine that has been 100% satisfied with its performance so far, I felt it was a shame to throw it overboard. But battery life is a key feature for a laptop. So I slowly started to find out what my options were.
For white MacBooks, MacBook Airs, and all MacBook Pros WITHOUT Retina display, the battery can be replaced relatively easily. Exchange is offered by practically every service dedicated to Apple computers. When a person decides on a new battery, he can basically choose between three options - each has its advantages and disadvantages.
You can have an original Apple battery installed in your MacBook from an authorized service center. It is undoubtedly of high quality and will offer long-term durability, but it costs around 5 crowns and its replacement can take up to several days in extreme cases, because the service always orders it for a specific model. In addition, you only get a three-month warranty on the original battery from Apple.
You can buy a non-original battery for about half the price (approx. 2 crowns), which will be installed in the service while you wait. The warranty is usually six months, but quality and long-term durability are not guaranteed here at all. It can easily happen that you receive a practically non-functional piece, and you have to have the battery replaced again. The lifespan can also be very uncertain.
The third option is a solution from a Czech company NSPARKLE, which has already built a very solid reputation in the field of Mac revivals. The company's portfolio was recently joined by MacBook battery replacement, which should be mentioned in the list of options.
NSPARKLE started offering NuPower battery from the traditional American company NewerTech, which has been producing components for Apple computers since the 80s. Battery prices vary between 3 and 4 crowns, depending on the MacBook model, and the company offers an above-standard one-year warranty. The advantage of the batteries is that they are delivered in a practical package with special screwdrivers, so you can do the assembly yourself at home. If you don't dare to use it, NSPARKLE will of course also install it for you.
Battery replacement at NSPARKLE is not one of the cheapest options, for example, it costs 13 crowns for a 4-inch MacBook Pro, but it is still a more favorable offer than the authorized Apple service. You can get batteries from NSPARKLE a little cheaper and also with a four times longer warranty, which is simply nice for such a component. The NewerTech brand ensures that you get practically the same quality as an original piece from Apple.
Erm… How about labeling an ad as an ad? There is a code for that in journalism!
Due to all the editing, we forgot to add that line in the end, we apologize for that, of course. This is a commercial message.
There is not just a code for that, but a law that mandates it...
Among other things, I also have the mentioned white Macbook at home, so I had to laugh at the idea of having the battery changed at a service center and it would still take several days. :-))) Practically, I take a coin, use it to unlock the battery lock and replace the battery. The spell is done. The original is far from worth 5 thousand.
Hello, of course the battery does not cost 5 thousand for this old white MacBook and it is user replaceable. This applies to newer unibody models. Since the replacement of your MacBook is as simple as you write, we will of course carry it out for free. However, newer MacBooks need to be disassembled. :)
But the original battery does not cost 5 thousand even for a "pre-retina" unibody MacBook Pro. Compared to the white MacBook, the complexity of the "disassembly" consists in unscrewing 10 crossbars on the bottom cover and then disconnecting the battery connector and removing it.
Hello, replacing such a battery at an authorized service center really costs around 5 CZK including VAT. It includes work, without which they will not sell it to you. The battery is screwed on with special screws with a trilobe thread. However, there is just such a screwdriver in the NewerTech battery pack and you can replace it yourself if you want. :)
Well, from the authorized service, it's a job, or mainly with the obligatory extra markup, it is in no way the price of a bare battery. However, these are amounts for which no reasonable person will buy it, and there is no reason to buy a battery in a service center anyway ;) The screws on the battery are then in a similar situation, as the screws on the disc, which is user-changeable even so-called "officially". I wouldn't really make a science out of getting a screwdriver :)
when my macbook pro retina 15" started telling me that the battery needs to be replaced, I started looking. iwant told me that the replacement due to the unibody and the battery stuck on the bottom part will take at most 14 days and will cost 13000 kc :D
so I thanked them and said goodbye
This is exactly what awaits me, my partner MacBook Air 13″ mid-2012 has been through enough and is basically unusable without a cable, so it's time to give it a new lease of life. On that occasion, I will give it a complete cleaning, it must be a nice mess inside over the years.
yes, the battery for the macbook pro retina 15, the istyle service said about 15000 kc, a really good offer. In the end, it was sold at macwell for 3500 kc
well, I bought origos from AliExpress. for 2500 with free delivery. The flashlight is very well made and I have had it for years and it works without any problems. the iphone 5 flashlight is also from Ali and it works without any problems.
Another option is to replace the battery yourself.
And where is the company located?
