Jan Zdarsa If you visited the server page yesterday Jablíčkáři.cz, so you may have seen shutdown notices, scattered Czech or possibly a lot of error messages. Yesterday, I threw myself into a big system update, which I had been preparing for a long time.
For those who project Jablíčkáři.cz they don't know, it is a server that collects articles from various Czech Apple servers, which are now clearly in one place. You can vote for articles in the "Pending" section, and the most successful ones will then move to the "Published" section. You should definitely not miss these published articles, so I recommend subscribing to them using an RSS reader, for example.
Although I tested the new version of the system on another server and everything ran fine, many unexpected problems arose when moving to the current one. I struggled with it all day until finally at 3:30 in the morning I finished the work and everything worked in some form.
Today I did some minor finishing touches and tweaked the system a bit. So at the moment I am announcing that the server should be running without problems at least as you have known it lately. Not much has changed for users, but the basic building block of the entire project has been dug from the ground up.
Users will definitely notice the new toolbar. If you click on the title of the article, the article will open with a completely new top bar where you can vote for the article after reading it. Be sure to try this new product and share your impressions in the discussion.
Many errors have been corrected, the most obvious being the problematic addition of articles. When you wanted to add an interesting article using "Add a new article", after entering all the data and clicking publish, everything took too long. Now the article should be added to Pending more or less immediately.
Servers can continue to use existing voting buttons. If you run an Apple blog and you don't have a voting button on your page yet, don't hesitate to write to me and I'll provide you with instructions on how to place the button.
