The exact reason for Tim Cook's visit is unknown, but it is said that he came to the United Arab Emirates to discuss the possibility of supplying the local education system with his equipment. Such a move would be very similar to Apple's alleged plan in Turkey, where it is said to have signed a contract to buy back 13,1 million iPads over four years. The Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates praised Cook for his contribution to the development of technology in education, while Cook, on the other hand, likes the introduction of the so-called "e-government" system.
Among other things, Cook also visited representatives of local communication service providers. The UAE does not yet have an official store with Apple products, but after this visit there was a discussion about the possible establishment of an Apple Store in the tallest building in the world - Burj Khalifa.

Apple tests alternative charging for iWatch (3/2)

Discussions about the iWatch project have been stirred up again in recent days, after The New York Times reported new information regarding the testing of different charging methods for these smart watches. According to the NYT, one possibility is to wirelessly charge the watch using magnetic induction. A similar system is already used by Nokia for its smartphones. Another option that Apple is said to be testing is adding a special layer to the allegedly curved watch display that would allow the iWatch to be charged using solar energy. At the same time, the newspaper adds that in June of last year, Apple patented a type of battery that would be able to function in such a way. The third alleged method that Apple is testing is a battery that charges with movement. A wave of the hand could thus stimulate a small charging station that would power the device. This option is recorded in a patent from 2009. According to the available information, one thing is clear – Apple is most likely still working on the watch, and the charging solution seems to be one of the biggest problems it faces in this process.
