The past week has been shrouded in sadness - the death of Steve Jobs is, unfortunately, undoubtedly the most significant event it has brought. At the same time, this year's 39th week brought some interesting news, including the iPhone 4S, which immediately tries to beat Samsung in some countries. The fifth generation of the Apple phone also burned the pond for some packaging manufacturers. Find out more in today's Apple Week...

We may borrow applications from the App Store (October 3)

A very interesting novelty may be coming to the Apple App Store. In the latest ninth beta of iTunes 10.5, a code appeared that indicates that it will be possible to borrow applications. Instead of an immediate purchase, it would be possible to try the application for free for a certain period of time, for example for a day. Then the app would be deleted automatically.

It was speculated that Apple could present this news already during Tuesday's "Let's talk iPhone" keynote, but it did not happen. From the point of view of users, however, the possibility of borrowing applications would definitely be a welcome novelty. And maybe the unnecessary "Lite" versions would disappear from the App Store.

The manufacturer sold two thousand packages for a non-existent device (October 5)

They had a big problem after Tuesday “Let's talk iPhone” keynote at Hard Candy. She sold thousands of packaging for the device she believed Tim Cook would introduce on Tuesday. However, Apple did not present a new iPhone with a display larger than four inches.

"Crazy day," admitted Hard Candy CEO Tim Hickman after the keynote. "We had to cancel several orders. Two thousand packages have already been ordered."

Hard Candy reportedly had 50 cases made for the as-yet-non-existent Apple device, and Hickman still believes such a device could emerge. “We still continue to produce,” reports. "Apple has to introduce a new iPhone at some point anyway, and these parameters didn't just come from somewhere," added Hickman, assuring that his company will immediately offer new accessories for the iPhone 4S, which is nonetheless identical in design to its predecessor.

Samsung Immediately Plans How to Stop iPhone 4S (5/10)

Although the iPhone 4S hasn't even been released for a day, South Korea's Samsung, apparently Apple's biggest competitor, is already making plans to stop its sales in some parts of Europe. The Asian giant has announced that it is filing a preliminary request to prevent the fifth-generation iPhone from being sold in France and Italy. Samsung claims that the iPhone 4S infringes two of its patents related to W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access), a European-Japanese 3G mobile phone network standard.

It is not yet clear how the whole thing will turn out. The iPhone 4S is scheduled to go on sale in France on October 14, and in Italy on October 28, so it should be decided by then.

We will see Infinity Blade II on December 1st, the first version received an update (October 5th)

During the presentation of the iPhone 4S, representatives of Epic Games also appeared on stage, demonstrating the performance of the new Apple phone on its new venture Infinity Blade II. The successor to the successful "one" looked really great at first glance, especially in terms of graphics, and we can now see for ourselves in the first trailer released by Epic Games.

However, Infinity Blade II will not be released until December 1st. Until then, we can pass the time by playing the first part, which with update 1.4 gets the usual magic rings, swords, shields and helmets, as well as a new opponent called RookBane. The update is of course free.

A new ebook was also released Infinity Blade: Awakening, which is the work of well-known New York Times author Brandon Sanderson. The story tells about the first part and describes everything in much more detail. Definitely an interesting read for Infinity Blade fans.

Other famous personalities comment on the death of Steve Jobs (October 6)

Barack Obama:

Michelle and I are saddened to learn of Steve Jobs' passing. Steve was one of America's greatest innovators - he wasn't afraid to think differently and had the belief that he could change the world and enough talent to make it happen.

He demonstrated American ingenuity by building one of the most successful companies on Earth out of a garage. By making computers personal and allowing us to carry the internet in our pockets. He not only made the information revolution accessible, he did it in an intuitive and fun way. And by turning his talent talent into a real story, he brought joy to millions of children and adults. Steve was known for the phrase that he lived each day as if it were his last. And because he really lived that way, he transformed our lives, changed entire industries, and achieved one of the rarest goals in human history: he changed the way we each look at the world.

The world has lost a visionary. There is perhaps no greater tribute to Steve's success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing through the device he created. Our thoughts and prayers are now with Steve's wife Lauren, his family and all who loved him.

Eric Schmidt (Google):

“Steve Jobs is the most successful American CEO of the last 25 years. Thanks to his unique combination of artistic sensibility and engineering vision, he was able to build an exceptional company. One of the greatest American leaders in history.”

Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook):

“Steve, thank you for being my teacher and friend. Thanks for showing me that what one creates can change the world. I'll miss you"

Bonus (U2)

“I miss him already.. one of the handful of anarchist Americans who literally created the 21st century with technology. Everyone will miss this hardware and software Elvis”

Arnold Schwarzenegger:

"Steve lived the California dream every day of his life, changed the world and inspired us all"

A well-known American presenter also said goodbye to Jobs in a funny way Jon Stewart:

4 customers ordered the iPhone 12S from AT&T in the first 200 hours (October 7)

iPhone 4S and a flop? No way. This is confirmed by figures from the American operator AT&T, with which over 12 people ordered the iPhone 4S during the first 200 hours when the new phone was available for pre-sale. For AT&T, it is thus the most successful launch of iPhone sales in history.

For comparison, last year at the start of sales of the iPhone 4, Apple announced that a record 600 customers ordered its phone across all operators in the US, France, Germany, Japan and Great Britain during the first day. AT&T alone managed a third this year, and in half the time.

The huge demand affected the delivery times. Those who didn't manage to pre-order the iPhone 4S will have to wait at least one to two weeks, at least that's how long the American online store is now shining.

Another great parody from the JLE group, this time on the iPhone 4S promo (October 8)

The JLE group became famous for the so-called "banned promos", which humorously parodied the introduction of new Apple products or, for example, reacted to the Antennagate scandal. These creative pranksters are back with a new video, this time taking the new iPhone 4S to task. This time, the fictitious employees of Apple had to equip themselves with alcohol in order to even introduce the latest generation of iPhone. After all, see for yourself:
