Tim Cook offered the boy whose life, according to him, was saved by the Watch, an internship at Apple and a new iPhone (September 22)

One focus that Apple has been steadily developing in its products lately is health-related features. It is no different with the Apple Watch, which even saved the life of football player Paul Hoel from the American state of Massachusetts. After training, seventeen-year-old Paul felt a sharp pain in his chest with every breath. His watch soon alerted him that he had a very high heart rate, which made Paul decide to go to the emergency room, where he was diagnosed with heart, liver and kidney failure. Paul himself says that if it weren't for the Apple Watch, he wouldn't have dealt with the pain in any way, which could have had tragic consequences.

The story apparently impressed Tim Cook himself, who called the 17-year-old boy last week and offered him a free iPhone along with the possibility of a summer internship at Apple.

Tim Cook and Lisa Jackson attended dinner with the Chinese president (September 26)

During his first visit to the United States, Chinese President Xi Jinping met not only with the highest representatives of the American government, but also with the heads of major technology companies, such as Amazon, Facebook and Apple. Chinese hackers are often blamed for attacks on US government servers, and the Chinese government is believed to support these attacks. China is also afraid of similar attacks on its servers, and therefore one of the topics of the discussions between Xi Jinping and Tim Cook with Lisa Jackson, a representative of Apple, was the security of user data. According to Chinese law, these are supposed to be safe and controllable, which, of course, does not correspond to Apple's policy, which is based on the secrecy of user data and does not collect it itself. The Chinese government could demand that US companies hand over sensitive user data to them.
