The massive expansion of iOS 7, perimeter walls in the new campus, Volkswagen in its cars with CarPlay and bigger batteries and a better sensor for the new iPhone, this is what Apple Week writes about today.

Ten months after release, iOS 7 is on 90 percent of devices (14/7)

Even with iOS 8 approaching, users are still installing the current iOS 7. As of Monday, it was on 90% of devices that joined the App Store. The new milestone comes 10 months after the release of iOS 7; as recently as April, the percentage of iOS 7 installations was at 87%. iOS 6 installs dropped from 11% to 9%. It took iOS 7 to run on 74% of devices just three months after its release, and iOS 8 will no doubt take off just as quickly.

Apple could replace advertising agency TBWA with people from Beats (14/7)

According to New York Post could Apple soon end cooperation with advertising agency TBWA, with which it has been cooperating for many years. According to some, Apple wants to reinvigorate its marketing efforts with the help of new hires from Beats, led by Jimmy Iovine. The e-mails of Phil Schiller, Apple's vice president for worldwide marketing, from the recent legal proceedings with Samsung also point to the termination of cooperation. In them, Schiller expresses concern over the increasing effectiveness of Samsung's advertising campaigns. And a diary Wall Street Journal noticed Apple's marketing problems and published an article titled "Has Apple Lost Its Cool To Samsung?" Apple has also created its own ad production team in recent months - but those aren't as popular with viewers as those from ad agency TBWA, according to research.

The German automaker Volkswagen is said to be in the middle of negotiations with Apple about the implementation of CarPlay in its cars. Volkswagen was surprisingly not among the first few car brands to support CarPlay. However, when Apple first introduced the technology to connect iPods to cars, Volkswagen was among the first companies to support this connection. Neither company has commented on the implementation of CarPlay, but it can be expected that Volkswagen is negotiating this partnership for car models that will be released in 2016. iPhone 6 is supposed to have a battery with a larger capacity and a 13-megapixel sensor from Sony (17/7)

Over the past week, there have been new speculations about the equipment of the iPhone 6. The first of them is a photo of the alleged battery of the new 4,7-inch iPhone, which should have a capacity of 1 mAh. Such a battery would be a slight improvement over the 810 mAh battery in the iPhone 5s. The capacity of 1 mAh would put the new iPhone behind the Samsung Galaxy S560 or HTC One phones, on the other hand, together with the new iOS 1 system, it would help Apple improve the overall endurance of the iPhone.

The camera sensor could also be improved, and after a few years Apple could also increase the number of megapixels. The new Exmor IMX220 sensor from Sony has 1/2.3”, 13 megapixels and can record videos in 1080p. In the past weeks, it was believed that Apple will once again stick with the 8-megapixel camera and improve it with optical stabilization. On the other hand, Apple has been using the IMX4 sensor version since the iPhone 145S, so it is possible that it could also choose a new version of the sensor for the new iPhone.

Work on Apple's new campus continues rapidly (17/7)

Reporter Ron Cervi, who has been photographing the progress of work on Apple's new campus for several months, has published new photos via Twitter. It can be seen from them that the perimeter walls of the main building are nearing completion. Since June, when work on the walls began, the construction site has changed significantly. Ron Cervi also mentioned furrows in the ground that could be used as underground tunnels. Apple has closed several roads around the construction site and high hedges protect it from prying eyes. The first phases of construction on the campus, which is expected to be entirely dependent on renewable energy, are expected to be completed in 2016.
