Apple donates $11 million to Chinese non-profits due to floods (7/XNUMX)

Apple has become the first US company to donate funds to the non-profit China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA). She helps victims and fights the consequences of floods along the Yangtze River.

The non-profit organization received seven million yuan from Apple, which translates to roughly one million dollars. The organization also said it is working closely with the California company to make sure Apple uses the money properly.

"Our thoughts are with those ravaged by the Yangtze River basin," Apple CEO Tim Cook said on Chinese news forum Weibo.

Torrential rains affected more than thirty-one million people in more than 500 cities across the region this year. More than one million people are still homeless and in need of assistance. Let's just add that Apple has already donated money to needy people or humanitarian aid during various natural disasters in the past.

Apple is considering opening a service center in Russia (July 12)

According to The Moscow Times, Apple is reportedly considering opening a service center for iOS devices in Russia. The Californian company made the decision after the court argued that Apple did not sufficiently support products in this country.

Last year, there was a court case with Dmitry Petrov, who accused Apple that retail chains and service companies are not sufficiently equipped to solve problems with a cracked display. Petrov refused to replace the device and did not want to pay an external company to repair his cracked display. Service centers in Russia currently lack the advanced calibration equipment needed to repair a cracked or otherwise damaged display.

Although the lawsuit has already been settled, Apple is preparing a strategy to prevent similar events, thanks to its own service center. Users often want to repair a cracked screen rather than get a new iPhone. It is not yet clear when exactly the construction of the center will take place.

The new iPhone could have a slightly larger battery capacity (13/7)

According to the latest leak, the new iPhone 7 will feature a 1960 mAh battery, a fourteen percent increase in total capacity over the iPhone 6S's 1715 mAh battery.

The information came on the social network Twitter Steve Hemmerstoffer, which is known by the moniker OnLeaks. He refers to his reliable sources, but added that although he believes the sources, he cannot confirm this information one hundred percent. However, in the past, some of the leaks presented by him have proven to be true.

Better battery life would not only be helped by a larger battery capacity, but also by the new Apple A10 processor or the new iOS 10. What battery capacity the larger iPhone 7 Plus will have is still unknown.

The song was chosen by the American station NBC as the anthem of this year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Don't expect any sugary pop vocals though. Her unannounced single is quite dark and dramatic.

According to the singer, the song Rise is not on the list of songs of her upcoming album and it is only a song that she has had in her head for a long time. According to the first reviews, it will probably be another great hit performed by this singer.
