Apple lost exclusive rights to the name "iPhone" in China (3/5)

Apple has lost a lawsuit in Beijing against a manufacturer of leather cases bearing the iPhone name, meaning that Apple will not have exclusive rights to use the name in China. The Californian company registered the name in China as early as 2002, but the Chinese manufacturer of covers only started using it in 2007, i.e. the year the first iPhone went on sale in the United States. Apple brought the situation to the attention of government authorities already in 2012, but a year later the Chinese government decided that in 2007 the iPhone was not yet popular enough for the public to associate the name of leather covers with an Apple product. According to a spokesperson for Apple, the company will continue to fight for justice and will take the case to the Supreme Court of China.

The original creators of Siri, Dag Kittlaus and Adam Cheyer, from whom Apple bought the voice technology, after years of work, are finally ready to present their new product - the AI assistant Viv. Viv should be introduced on Monday and, unlike Siri, should handle much more complex tasks.

In a voice command, you can use it to order dinner and buy movie tickets at the same time, because Viv can operate in several applications at the same time. Via Viv, for example, when ordering a pizza, you will be able to choose all the ingredients and side dishes at the same time without opening the pizzeria application itself.

The creators of Viv want to make the technology work on all devices that have access to the Internet, such as smart cars and televisions. Google and Facebook have already tried to buy Viv, but Kittlaus and Cheyer aim to expand the technology as much as possible, and will sell their product to a company that allows them to do so.
