Apparently, there will be no new hardware at WWDC this year. Nevertheless, Apple continues to strengthen its team. Bobby Hollis will manage the renewable energy side of things, while Wifarer's Philip Stanger will help improve the maps. Steve Jobs was chosen by CNBC magazine as the most influential personality of the last 25 years…

Another Apple Lisa will be auctioned. The price should exceed 800 thousand crowns (April 28)

The Apple Lisa was the first computer with a graphical interface and a mouse. Icons on the desktop or even the Recycle Bin itself appeared on the computer for the very first time in 1983 thanks to Lisa. At the end of next month, one of the models will be auctioned in Germany, and the organizers expect to exceed 48 thousand dollars, i.e. 800 thousand crowns. The reason for the price is clear: there are apparently only about a hundred of these computers in the world. This is due to Apple itself, which released a cheaper and better model a year after the release of Lisa. Customers could exchange it for free for their old Lisa, which was then destroyed by Apple.

Apple hires new senior manager for renewable energy (April 30)

Bobby Hollis, vice president of Nevada energy provider NV Energy, will become Apple's new senior manager of renewable energy. Hollis has most likely worked with Apple in the past, signing a contract to build solar panels for Apple's data center in Reno. Renewable energy is one of Apple's important points in its development. All of the California company's data centers are 100% powered by renewable energy, and their corporate equipment is powered by 75%. As a result of its renewable energy policy, Apple was named one of the Green Energy Innovators by Greenpeace.

CNBC voted Steve Jobs the most influential person of the last 25 years (April 30)

On CNBC magazine's "Top 25: Rebels, Role Models and Leaders" list of the most influential people of the past 25 years, Steve Jobs came out on top, ahead of Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffett, and the founders of Google, Amazon and various other technology giants. "His creative genius revolutionized not only the computer industry, but everything from the music and film industries to smartphones," explains CNBC. But there is one catch. The magazine writes on the very first line of Jobs' biography: "Bill Gates brought the desktop experience to users, Steve Jobs brought the experience of using computers that we carry everywhere with us." Jobs received the first place on the list, but this statement could be considered completely wrong.

The head of the startup Wifarer is said to have been acquired by Apple. It's supposed to help improve maps (1/5)

Philip Stanger is behind the startup Wifarer, which allows companies to use Wi-Fi GPS services even in closed spaces. Stanger left his company in February to join Apple, but it's unclear what his role will be. It could help Apple develop maps, which seems to be one of the main goals of iOS 8 to improve. But it's strange that Apple didn't buy Wifarer outright, along with several of its patents. Apple can already use acquired companies such as Embark, Hop Stop or Locationary in its improved maps.

A week in a nutshell

Although we were still waiting for the court verdict at the beginning of the week after both Samsung and Apple presented closing speech, it is already clear how the entire trial in the USA turned out. Both parties will have to pay for patent infringement, although Apple will receive a significantly higher amount from Samsung. But almost 120 million dollars is much less, than the iPhone maker demanded. On the contrary, Apple intends for a much larger value reissue bonds, so that it can pay dividends to shareholders.

Apple's leadership has changed a lot in the last three years and the newest employee in top management Angela Ahrendts became recognized. Under this leadership, Apple has made many acquisitions recently, one of the latest additions being the company Lux Vue, which will help Apple make display lighting more efficient.

Two members of the team will also attend the highly anticipated Code conference, instead of CEO Tim Cook this year will be Craig Federighi and Eddy Cue. And even though we probably won't see new hardware at WWDC this year, Apple at least presented it this week slightly upgraded MacBook Air.
