iPhone 4 soon the most popular camera on Flickr (April 17)

If the trend of the past few months continues, the iPhone 4 will soon become the most popular device from which photos are shared on Flickr. Nikon D90 still holds the lead, but the popularity of the Apple phone is rising steeply and the camera from the Japanese company could be surpassed in a month.

Although the iPhone 4 has only been on the market for a year, it is much cheaper than the Nikon D90, which has been on sale for about three years, and it also has size and mobility in its favor. Since everyone can have the iPhone at hand all the time, it is becoming more popular than traditional cameras. As far as mobile phones are concerned, the iPhone 4 already has the first place in uploading photos to Flickr. It surpassed its predecessors iPhone 3G and 3GS, HTC Evo 4G is in fourth place, HTC Droid Incredible is in fifth place.

Newer MacBook Airs have a faster SSD drive than those from the beginning of sales (17/4)

The fact that Apple quietly changes components in its computers is nothing new. This time, the change concerns Apple's thinnest laptop – the MacBook Air. The first version, which was disassembled by the technicians of the Ifixit.com server, contained an SSD disk Blade-X Gail od Toshiba. As it turned out, Apple decided to change the manufacturer and installed NAND-flash disks in Macbooks Air from Samsung.

New owners of the "airy" MacBook will feel the change mainly in the speed of reading and writing, where the older SSD from Toshiba reached values of 209,8 MB/s when reading and 175,6 MB/s when writing. Samsung fares significantly better with its SSD, with 261,1 MB/s read and 209,6 MB/s write. So if you buy a MacBook Air now, you should be looking forward to a slightly faster computer.

White iPhone 4 videos reveal some interesting facts (18/4)

Recently, two videos circulated in the apple world where a certain server revealed a pre-production sample of a white iPhone. A peek into Settings revealed that it was the 64GB model, as indicated by the XX marking on the back of the phone. With the white iPhone, a variant with twice as much storage may eventually appear.

More interesting, however, was the look into the system itself, specifically the use of multitasking. Instead of the classic slide-out bar, he displayed a kind of Exposé form with a search engine Spotlight in the upper part. So rumors began to spread that this could be a beta version of the upcoming iOS 5. However, it seems that it is only a modified GM version of iOS 4 with the designation 8A293. This is evidenced, for example, by older versions of the Recorder and Calculator icons.

The question remains, however, where the Exposé came from. Application option from Cydia server TUAW.com ruled it out as there is currently no similar looking app in this unofficial iOS store. It is therefore possible that this is some kind of experimental element that may be implemented in a later version of the system or may be forgotten. The white iPhone 4 itself should appear on sale on April 27.

Apple probably changed the algorithm for rating apps (18/4)

In the App Store, you can now view the ranking of up to 300 Top applications and by server Inside Mobile Reports At the same time, Apple changed the algorithm for determining the Top applications ranking. The rating system should not depend purely on the number of downloads. While it's just speculation and it's too early to judge anything, the algorithm could already include app usage and user ratings, although it's not entirely clear how Apple would process all the data.

However, it would not be a completely misguided step. Apple may be trying to dethrone the popular game Angry Birds, for example, which is already available in several versions in the App Store, from the first rungs, thus closing the gap for other titles. A possible change in the rating was first observed with the Facebook application, which suddenly jumped from its classic place in the second ten in the American App Store to the very top of the ranking. This could mean that the new algorithm is actually focusing on how often users use the app. Facebook is definitely launched several times a day, even then the second and third positions would correspond, where the highly addictive games The Impossible Test and Angry Birds are.

An Undo button has been added to the Gmail web interface (April 18)

Although there is a built-in email client available in iOS, many users prefer Gmail's web interface, which is well optimized for iPhone and iPad and is often more convenient to use, if they use the service. In addition, Google is constantly improving its services and has now introduced another novelty, which is the Undo button. Users can now cancel various actions such as archiving, deleting or moving messages. If the Undo function is possible, a yellow panel pops up at the bottom of the browser. You can find the optimized Gmail interface at mail.google.com

MobileMe and iWork update coming? (April 19)

Hardware aside, the most anticipated new versions of Mobile and iWork are in Apple's portfolio. The update of the web service and office suite has been awaited for quite a long time, and although there have been many speculations about the possible release of new versions, nothing has happened yet.

Nevertheless, Apple is taking sweeping steps that indicate something is afoot. In February, Apple was already out of stores removed the boxed versions of MobileMe and also canceled the option to get MobileMe at a discount when you buy a new Mac. Apple also offered similar discounts for the iWork office package. If the user bought iWork together with a new Mac, he got a thirty-dollar discount, and he saved the same amount if he activated MobileMe with the new Mac or iPad.

However, on April 18th, Apple announced that the discount programs for iWork and MobileMe were ending and at the same time warned retailers to no longer offer discounts. There is talk that Apple wants to completely overhaul MobileMe and will receive several new functions, the iWork update has been waiting for more than two years. The last version of the office suite was released at the beginning of 2009. About the introduction of iWork 11 se they have been talking for a long time, originally speculated about launching alongside the Mac App Store, but this has not been confirmed.

Apple does not like the promotion of third-party applications in the App Store (April 19)

With the new algorithm for the ranking in the App Store, Apple began to deal with applications that, instead of In-App Purchase, offer to obtain additional content by installing a partner application. Apple doesn't like this way of promotion, and it's no wonder. The developers thus violate one of the "Guidelines", which stipulate that applications manipulating the ranking in the App Store will be rejected.

By persuading customers to download another app in exchange for a reward, even if it's free, developers are directly violating the rules by creating distorted records of the number of app downloads. Apple has already begun to take action against these so-called "Pay-Per-Install" practices and has begun to remove the relevant applications from its App Store.

The iMac update is coming (20/4)

This year, Apple has already managed to update the MacBook Pro and iPad, now it should be the turn of the iMac, which is also ending its traditional life cycle. This is indicated by the dwindling stocks of sellers to whom Apple is no longer supplying new machines and, on the contrary, is about to announce the next generation. The new iMacs should be equipped with Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt, which first appeared in the new MacBook Pro, should not be missing either. The original speculations talked about the launch of the new iMac at the turn of April and May, which would be the case.

Reports of a very limited supply of desktop computers with the apple logo are coming in from all over the world, with shortages of iMacs being reported in America and Asia, so it's likely only a matter of weeks before we see the update.

It is in second place with its tablets Samsung, has 8 percent, which means that there is only 7% left for the rest of the market, of which the European manufacturer Archos still accounts for two percent.
