Apple has added a new story from the "Your Verse" series to its site, promoting the wide use of the iPad Air. The latest inspiration is Bollywood choreographer Feroz Khan, who uses his iPad to capture various scenes in the form of photos and videos. "As a Bollywood choreographer, I don't just take care of the dance numbers, I also have to scout locations, help choose costumes and props, and stay in touch with my team while doing it all," says Khan. According to the campaign, Khan uses apps like SloPro or Artemis HD.

Apple could produce other chips in addition to the A7 processor itself (April 7)

Apple plans to create an R&D team to develop the baseband chips that control the device's radio functions. These chips are different from the A7 chips, which Apple already develops in-house, i.e. by its own team on home soil. The chips, which the Californian company previously sourced from Qualcomm and are now said to be designed by Apple itself, are expected to appear in iPhones as early as 2015. Apple has made several moves recently, such as the alleged purchase of chip maker Renesas Electronics for smartphone displays, which could give it complete control over its production stock and key technologies.

The exchange program for iPhones has already appeared in Germany as well (April 7)

After Apple's trade-in program expanded to France and Canada last month, German customers can now also come to an Apple Store to bring their old iPhone. In exchange, they will be issued a gift voucher worth up to 230 euros (6 crowns). Apple recycles old iPhones fairly, which is a better alternative than just throwing away the device. This trade-in program was launched by Apple in the US before the release of the iPhone 300s, and shortly afterwards in the UK. Users can also mail in their old devices.

Both iPad Air and Retina iPad mini should get Touch ID this year (April 9)

According to surveys by KGI Securities, we will not only see new versions of iPads earlier than in November, when they were introduced last year, but also interesting functions will be added to them. According to KGI Securities, the iPad Air should have an A8 processor and an 8-megapixel camera, as well as Touch ID, which we could only use with the iPhone 5s for the time being. According to the survey, Apple plans to release a new version of the iPad mini with the same innovations to boost its sales. The price of the iPad mini with Retina display should also be reduced. Additionally, KGI Security mentioned that they think Apple is still working on a 12,9-inch iPad, but won't release it until 2015 at the earliest.

Apple is considering dramatic changes to the iTunes Store, could offer 24-bit recordings (9/4)

iTunes Radio has failed to stop declining music downloads, with only two percent of people listening on stream clicking the "buy" button at the same time. iTunes thus faces a 15% drop in downloads overall due to its competitors such as YouTube, Spotify or Pandora, which is very popular in America. iTunes still accounts for 40% of revenue from music downloads in the US, but with two-thirds of users now subscribed to streaming services, Apple has decided to make changes to keep up with the competition.

One of the innovations that Apple is planning for the future of iTunes is the introduction of an "on-demand" service that would be similar to a monthly subscription to Spotify. With such a move, it would be possible to use iTunes to buy music, listen to iTunes Radio for free, and save songs for later offline playback with a premium "on-demand" account. One of the other innovations could be the introduction of the possibility to download songs in a 24-bit version. For such, the user should pay an extra dollar and they would be available alongside the classic versions.

A week in a nutshell

The main topic in the past week in the Apple world was once again the lawsuit between the Californian company and Samsung. An email from 2010 in which Steve Jobs first came to light he presented his long-term vision. After that they discovered quite sensitive information about the relationship between Apple, specifically its marketing chief Phil Schiller, and the advertising agency Media Arts Lab, with which the iPhone manufacturer has been cooperating for a long time. And finally, Apple in front of a jury this week explaining why he is asking Samsung for more than two billion dollars in damages.

One important message also came directly from Apple's headquarters, where already Greg Christie won't be working for long, the key man behind the development of the iPhone and the entire user interface of iOS products. It means that Jony Ive's power will rise again. However, his boss, Tim Cook, cannot complain, at least when it comes to his salary. In Silicon Valley takes almost the most.

Although one of Apple's important employees is leaving, on the other hand, Angela Ahrendstová, the future head of retail and online sales, who is now expected to join the apple company she received the British Empire Award.
