Apple received a patent for the Home button from liquidmetal (March 8)

Among the forty new patents that Apple received last week, one of the most interesting is the one for using a material called liquidmetal to make the Home button. Apart from its durability and light weight, Liquidmetal is particularly important for its flexibility. If Apple used it on iPhones, the Home button would become one of many pressure-sensitive components, and it would also flex slightly with each press. Liquidmetal would also allow Apple to use a much simpler and more efficient mechanism. Apple has had the right to use this material since 2010. It was previously speculated that it would use it for example for a SIM card slot, which never materialized. But the emerging patents suggest that Apple continues to see many possibilities in liquid metal.

The musical about the rivalry between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates will not be after all (8/3)

The anticipated musical titled Nerds, which was supposed to premiere on Broadway as early as next month, had to be canceled due to the loss of sponsors. Nerds captured the story of the rivalry between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates in an entertaining form that included both holograms on stage and an app through which the audience could vote on the ending of the story during the game. The actors were already in full swing with preparations, and it is still possible that the play will eventually be presented to the audience. For now, however, her fate is largely uncertain.

15 17-inch and 2010-inch MacBooks already obsolete (8/3)

Apple has renewed its list of vintage and obsolete products after three months, last week marking 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pros made in 2010 as vintage in the US and Turkey, and obsolete everywhere else in the world. According to Apple's characteristics, vintage products have not been produced for more than five years, and obsolete products for more than one year. In general, the inclusion of products on one of these lists means the end of hardware support by Apple. However, the OS X El Capitan system is still supported even by MacBooks whose production dates go back to 2007.

Borat promotes his new film with a parody of Apple's keynote (9/3)

Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, who is behind successful satirical characters such as Ali G or Borat, is promoting his new film Grimsby decided to imitate Apple's keynote. On stage in front of a large audience, he introduced his new character Nobby, as if Steve Jobs had introduced the new iPhone.

According to Cohen, Nobby is 12 percent more likable than Borat and 15 percent dumber than Ali G. Cohen also takes issue with Apple's constant pursuit of the thinnest products possible. In the video, he mentions that Grimsby has the smallest and lightest story any film studio has ever produced. While there are innumerable parodies of Apple presentations on the Internet, rarely is it authored by one of the most successful comedians of today.
