Apple uses the motto "It just works" for all its products, where you as an end user don't have to worry about anything and switching between devices is so smooth that sometimes you get the feeling that you're always working on the same product. Despite the simplicity of the ecosystem, not everyone knows how to use it to the full, so in this article we will learn some tricks.

Unlocking your Mac with Apple Watch

If you put your Mac or MacBook to sleep, you must enter a password when you wake it up again, or, in the case of newer MacBooks, authenticate with Touch ID. But there is another much faster way to unlock your computer literally in the blink of an eye without having to enter a password - with an Apple Watch on. To set the unlock, select on the Mac Apple icon -> System Preferences -> Security & Privacy, and on the card In general choose Unlock your Mac and apps with your Apple Watch. All you have to do is wake up the sleeping computer, bring the watch closer to it, and you're done. In this way, you can also approve the installation of applications or some changes in the system preferences, for confirmation you will have to use the watch press the side button twice. However, several conditions must be met in order for the process to be completed. First, the Apple Watch needs to be connected to the iPhone. Additionally, the Mac must have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on, and both devices must be signed in under the same Apple ID, and the account must have two-factor authentication enabled. In the case of the Apple Watch itself, it is also necessary that they be secured by a code. It is also necessary to fulfill to unlock system requirements for continuity between Apple products.

It is true that for a certain group of people it is not very convenient to enter the code of the watch on a small display, but Apple thought of these users as well. The Apple Watch locks every time you take it off your wrist, and you have to enter the code again after putting it on. Despite the fact that HomePods are not officially sold in the Czech Republic, there are still a handful of people in the country who have these devices. If you want to play content on them that isn't in Apple Music, Podcasts, or isn't stored in your iTunes library, you'll need to use AirPlay to do so. But if you don't want to unlock your phone, and at the same time want to switch the music you're listening to to the speaker, the solution is really easy. First, make sure it's an iPhone connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the HomePod, after that it's enough hold your phone over the top of the HomePod. The music should start playing directly from the speaker.
