Apple picker It really happened by chance that I turned on the iTunes Store on my iPhone because I heard something about Czech iTunes in a video. I don't know exactly what it was, because I couldn't start the video the second time, but the main thing is that iTunes on my iPhone really started!
Previously, when you tried to do this, you got a message that iTunes is unavailable in this country. But now you can use iTunes unlimitedly on your iPhone. iTunes in the iPhone does not contain music in the same way that the Czech iTunes Store does not contain it on the desktop.
Finally, we can download podcasts from the iPhone and view iTunes U. It is not certain whether downloadable music and movies will appear in the Czech iTunes in the foreseeable future. However, we still believe that the Czech iTunes Store will be announced together with iTunes.com in September when the new generation of iPods is launched.
UPDATE: iTunes Store is also available in Slovakia from iPhone! (thx @jcaran)
well, if there is a Czech iTS, it will be a blast :-) So far it's not interesting to me...
Great, it works like a charm, I just solved it 2 weeks ago, by complicatedly shuffling the country in iTunes.. At least they gave us the podcasts... :-)
Martin: I firmly believe that this is the beginning of a normal Czech version of iTunes, which will also contain albums by Czech performers. But time will tell. ;)
So it's not so much about Czech performers as it is about freely buying music like where iTunes has been for a long time :-) and I also believe that it will finally launch in full...

2 boar: I can see it now – the podcast will be downloaded to the iPod and then you can delete it normally in the Podcasts section :)
I also launched it from Slovakia :)
I'm not interested in Czech performers at all, but I want to buy music and movies here with a Czech credit card, maybe this is the beginning of full-fledged iTunes :)
Well glory, finally something is happening
podcasts are also new in the store via iTunes in osx,
In fact, even on the iPhone, the store only works with podcasts for now,
I don't really believe that they would start it here...
It doesn't work on the iPad :-( although it doesn't say it's not available anymore, I only see the "Downloads" tab and nothing else..
I definitely see it as a plus, I hope it will be a big step forward towards a fully functional iTunes. I also have two accounts for music and US iTunes.
That's how I run iTunes on my iPad. I've already tried downloading a few podcasts and it works great.
And do you have a US account or normal CZ?
I have CZ and it doesn't work. Only the downloads item and a link to the Terms of service will be shown.
You probably have to confirm the Terms of service..
I somewhat miss the reason for the enthusiasm and the point of the whole article.
"... you can use iTunes on your iPhone without limits." In the next sentence, the author denies what he wrote: "iTunes does not contain music in the iPhone in the same way that the Czech iTunes Store does not contain it on the desktop."
So let's recap it.
1/ We don't get a single annoying message.
2/ I still can't buy music or movies.
3/ The only positive is a slight simplification: you no longer have to download podcasts via your computer.
You're missing out on what's important - Apple is finally not pandering to small countries and taking notice. And this could be a step forward towards a European iTunes Store even for small countries.

There are some albums by Czech performers on iTunes, but it has one small flaw. You just can't buy them in the Czech Republic. :O)

The progress is so slight that I didn't notice it at all, but I'm a slight optimist. At this rate, perhaps in 2011, iTunes will work in the Czech Republic.
You have to take it as this is an Apple initiative that will not bring them any additional revenue - that's why it's appropriate to appreciate this step and I think it also leads to the opening of European iTunes.
