I don't have much experience with dictionaries on the iPhone (most recently with WeDict on a jailbroken old iPhone), but this app caught my attention as soon as it appeared in the Appstore. This is a dictionary/translator based on the perfect service from Google - Google Translate. The application communicates with this web service using the Google API, so the dictionaries are not on your phone. The application only works when connected to the Internet, but since it communicates with Google servers, so does the translation jas such it is devilishly fast!

To be precise, it's not a dictionary in the exact sense of the word, it's more of a translator. After entering a foreign word, several different meanings that the word in the second language can have do not jump out at you. Only one option jumps out at you. On the other side can translate whole sentences. It currently supports 16 languages, but Czech is missing. But this is not a big problem, because just yesterday I communicated with the author of the application and I was assured that in the next update, the Czech language will definitely be represented! Already today, he updated the description of the application on iTunes, which contains the list already 33 languages, including Czech and Slovak. The updated version will hopefully appear in the Appstore soon, the developer Alex wrote to me that the updated version is already waiting for approval by Apple!

I would like it to include the Google dictionary directly in the application, but we'll see how it all turns out. At the moment, he said, he has come up with a working solution, but it needs to be properly tested. But I think it will work out and we will see a dictionary too! In any case the app is currently free and as it happens, you better "buy" it right away, because it can easily happen that the price jumps to some dollar, although the author will rather earn from mobile advertising. But whoever "buys" the app when it's free won't have to pay for it in the future either - they've already bought it!
