Apple is still circling mobile games like vultures over a carcass. He regularly shows us what to look forward to at Keynote, and it usually sounds great. But nothing is ready in time so that we can play the upcoming games immediately with the release of new devices. The current situation only confirms this.

If you look at Apple Arcade, it looks more like one big mess. We are not saying that the present games are not of high quality, but they really cannot be counted among AAA titles. The only chance to reverse this trend is in the case of NBA 2K24, which is due to arrive on 24/10. But it is a crumb in a sea of puns or, even worse, retro games that are only available with the "plus" label on the platform.

Then in the App Store, if you go to the game tab and scroll down a lot, you'll see a "Coming Soon" section. It is here that Resident Evil Village is also presented, which is to be released on iOS on 30/10 and its goal is to torment the A17 Pro chip. Even so, it still looks like the only exception that we will see in the foreseeable future. The rest of the titles are planned for the end of the year (Rainbow Six Mobile) and even worse for the first quarter of next year (Warframe Mobile, The Division Resurgence).

Can we blame ourselves?

So far, we've only talked about what already has a planned schedule in some way, but we haven't seen anything else in that month, or rather no company has announced that they are preparing a AAA console port of their game for iOS. So even though we have here a device that "theoretically" can handle the most demanding titles, we have nothing to play on it (Dungeon Hunter 6 really failed).

It's exactly the same situation that was on the Android platform. The chips there have been able to handle such Ray Tracing for two generations, but it only took a year before we got a game with its support. Therefore, the blame cannot be placed only on Apple, Samsung, Google, but also on developers, for whom, as can be seen, mobile gamers are not a priority.

Ultimately, the players themselves are to blame. If we only play Pou, Minecraft, Brawl Stars and Subway Surfers on iPhones, we can't be surprised at the developers for not seeing the potential to spend more money in us. Even the gaming industry is primarily about finances.
