The new iPhone 13 has gained weight, not only in terms of thickness, but also in weight. So expect them to really "come out". And that's especially true if we're talking about the iPhone 13 Pro Max, whose weight almost hits the quarter kilo mark. Apple didn't address how big and heavy the new devices are during Tuesday's presentation. If you remember the earlier introduction of iPhones, you may remember how Apple mentioned their thickness when trying to reduce it to the smallest possible value (which also got its revenge with the Bendgate case). With the iPhone 6, it even got below 7 mm (specifically at 6,9 mm), but since then the thickness has only been increasing. The iPhone 7 was already 7,1 mm, the iPhone 8 then 7,3 mm. The record holders are the iPhone XR and 11, which reached up to 8,3 mm. Compared to them, however, generation 12 was able to drop a little again, specifically to 7,4 mm, so that the thickness has now increased again.

This is, of course, due to the larger battery, which in turn will provide us with the much-desired longer endurance. The increase in thickness of the entire iPhone 13 series by 0,25 mm thus seems more than justified. In addition, you won't even feel such a difference in your hand, while the endurance is longer by an hour and a half or two and a half hours during active use. There shouldn't be a problem with cover compatibility either. But she and our weight were changing.

Compared to the previous generation, the iPhone mini 13 gained 7 g, the iPhone 13 already 11 g, the iPhone 13 Pro then 16 g and finally the iPhone 13 Pro Max 12 g. The total weight of the latter is a full 238 g, which can be really borderline. The increase in weight was not necessarily due to a larger battery, but also to the camera system. Of course, they protrude even more over the back of the device and are not included in the device thickness values.
