The competition in the mobile phone market is constantly increasing, as smaller brands are expanding quite quickly in it, which of course grows according to how aggressively they put a price tag on their devices. Apple can rest relatively easy because its iPhones are really popular on the European continent. Although Samsung still leads here, Apple is growing compared to it.

One of those brands that is expanding a lot is Realme. This Chinese company was only founded in 2018, and entered the Czech market a year later. According to research Strategy Analytics however, the company's smartphone shipments increased by 2020% compared to 500 in the European market. It is thus the fastest growing smartphone brand in Europe. This is also why it was among the TOP 5 sellers for the first time last year.

But it doesn't mean that when one grows, others have to fall. Among the top five sellers, only one actually fell, and that was the biggest one. Samsung lost one percent year-on-year in 2021. But it still owns 29% of the market. Apple is second, growing by 11% and its total share is 23%. The third Xiaomi improved by a nice 33% and owns 20% of the market. Respectable performance was also achieved by Oppo, which, although it only has 5% of the market, grew by 77%. Realme has a 3% share. While Samsung is still quite a distance from Apple, Xiaomi is hot on its heels as it is only 3% behind. But if we look at how Apple is doing in general on the European market, there is no need to worry too much about losing its second position.

Profits and sales

According to web analysis The report of Statista namely, Apple reported record sales on the European continent during the fiscal year 2021, when it sold goods and services worth 89,3 billion US dollars. It is the fourth time that Apple's net sales in Europe have also exceeded the 60 billion US dollar mark, although it is a fact that after 2018, 2019 was a little weaker. Sales jumped already during the covid year 2020 and last year they were truly record-breaking, not only in terms of profit, but also in terms of the increase compared to the previous year.

The report of Statista

Website statistics Business Of Apps then states that Apple sold 2021 million iPhones in Europe during 56,1. In 2020, however, it was only 37,3 million. If it continues at this rate, it will soon be number one in Europe. The United States and Japan are also growing. On the contrary, China has strange fluctuations in iPhone sales, when the amount of iPhones sold in 71,2 fell from 2015 million units to 2019 million in 31,4, to jump to almost 43 million units sold last year.
