Dan Pražák The durability of iPhones has never been dazzling. With the arrival of the iPhone XR (review) but a lot has changed and, paradoxically, last year's cheapest model offers the longest endurance on a single charge. But according to the British body for consumer protection Which? (can be compared to the domestic dTest) the capabilities of the iPhone XR battery are greatly overestimated and the values given by Apple are significantly different from reality.
Specifically, we are talking about call duration, when the iPhone XR should offer 25 hours of talk time according to Apple. But based on tests carried out by the organization Which? the actual value differs from the declared one by up to 8,5 hours - the measured endurance was only 16 hours and 32 minutes, which means, among other things, that Apple overestimated its figure by 51%.
In Which? in doing so, they tested a total of nine different pieces of the iPhone XR, and in all cases they were new phones that were fully charged. However, none of the tested devices reached the stated 25 hours, while even the best result was overestimated by 18 percent.
Apple has already commented on the results, stating in its statement that it stands by its own declared values, as it has subjected the phone to several tests:

However, Apple is not the only manufacturer for whose phones the stated durability differs from the real results. Which? also tested smartphones from HTC, but the result differed by only 5%. In contrast, the batteries of phones from Nokia and Samsung lasted just as long as their manufacturers say. And smartphones from Sony even showed 21% longer endurance than the official specifications claim.
