The iPhones introduced last year are already on sale some Friday, and after two quarters from the launch, the ideal time to take stock comes. Information on sales in foreign markets indicates that the biggest sales hit is – perhaps surprisingly for many – the cheaper iPhone XR.

For example, in the United States, the iPhone XR was the best-selling new model both in the last quarter of last year and in the first three months of this year. In the US market, iPhone XR sales accounted for nearly 40% of all iPhones sold. On the contrary, iPhone XS and XS Max accounted for only 20% of sales. The "cheap iPhone" should do similarly in other markets as well.

On the one hand, the very good sales of the iPhone XR are logical. It is the cheapest new iPhone, which is significantly more affordable compared to the top models, and at the same time it does not lack anything that the average user would miss compared to the XS models. On the other hand, since its introduction, the iPhone XR has been accompanied by a (personally incomprehensible to me) stigma of a "cheap" and therefore, to some extent, a "less valuable" iPhone.

At the same time, if we look at the specifications and prices, the iPhone XR is indeed the most suitable choice for many ordinary and undemanding users. Even from the Czech meadows and groves, however, it can be seen that a large number of owners prefer to pay extra for a top model simply to have it. Even if they don't actually need it, and they won't actually use the functions and parameters.

What do you think of the iPhone XR? Do you consider it to be a great iPhone and the most logical in terms of price, or do you consider it to be something inferior and you wouldn't buy anything other than the iPhone XS?
