Despite the growing reports that sales of this year's iPhones will not even reach expectations, Apple's Greg Joswiak said in an interview with CNET yesterday that sales of the iPhone XR are increasing every day.

iPhone XR has been on sale since October 26 this year, pre-orders started a week earlier. Joswiak told CNET that the iPhone XR has been defending its position as Apple's best-selling smartphone every day since its release. Joswiak called this year's more affordable iPhone, which saw the light of day in several colors, "the most popular iPhone."

However, Joswiak did not share specific numbers. Apple in its latest announcement of financial results, among others he announced, that it will stop publicly sharing information about specific numbers of iPhones, iPads and Macs sold. He justified his decision by saying that the mentioned numbers no longer represent the best representation of the business of the Cupertino giant. Joswiak's statement is therefore the most specific information available to the public. Although the information can give us some insight into how the individual models of this year's iPhones are faring in terms of popularity, they do not clarify how iPhone sales are performing compared to previous years.

Last month, the media was flooded with reports of slowing Apple smartphone sales. A week ago, they learned that Apple had reduced orders for the iPhone XS and iPhone XR due to the difficulty in predicting demand for this year's three-model product line. In Japan, the iPhone XR was again discounted due to reduced local demand. In the interview, Joswiak refused to comment on the mentioned news, he only mentioned the success of the cheapest of the three models this year.

In addition, Joswiak also mentioned that Apple has decided to support World AIDS Day this year as well - from every sale paid at the Apple Store via Apple Pay, the company will donate one dollar to charity. The promotion also applies to sales in the Apple Online Store. On the occasion of World AIDS Day, the apple logos on the stores will also be colored red.
